HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBIE!

It was 1960 and I was 4 years old when I received my first Barbie for Christmas. My first doll has been reproduced and I have her sitting beside me as I type this post! In my closet are over twenty unique Barbies I have collected over the years.

I have a few that are my favorites beginning with my original doll the brunette ponytail with the "Solo in the Spotlight" outfit.
I have the "Silken Flame" Barbie too. A bona fide member of the barbie collector club to this day.

Silken Flame

Back then Barbie came with just heels and a swim suit. The outfits were packaged in very cool pink and white striped packages that hung on racks.

They sold for about 1.00. Fancier outfits were more. I remember the Bridal Outfit was 4.99. My sisters and I had rousing fun role playing with these dolls. We won't go into that... Ken was boring...

Skipper had cool hair but she was just cute. My cousin had the ultimate Barbie Dream House!! I wanted that soooo bad. Here is the best picture I could find of it.

Fabulous and forever stylishly fierce, I have never lost my fascination with the incredible one and only fashion doll Barbie!

Love the Barbies, I have two that were given to me in the 80's. One is California Barbie (i think thats her) and the other is in the red evening gown with the brocade coat that has 'fur' collar and cuffs.

Thanks Violet! I love the vintage dolls with the slanty eyes the most. My favorite is my Scarlett O'Hara in the red dress and my Cher Barbie

Love your earrings I will be shopping soon on your site!
