MITCH RYDER'S CD RELEASE PARTY!

2009 studio album from the legendary Detroit rocker Mitch Ryder... produced by the marvelous Don Was. Detroit's singer, Mitch Ryder, storms back to the recording scene with this new album of Detroit Rock 'n' Roll. 12 tracks.

I have this cd and there is not one lost track on it.. Of course I am one of Mitch's biggest fans but honestly...

I have played this for friends world wide and they ate it up.. Mitch is legend globally not just in Detroit...

Mitch is totally upfront about his life in rock n roll and the tough decisions and pain that accompany such a wild ride. Tough to read at times and must have been even tougher to write... I highly recommend Mitch's book.

From Tim Hurley:

And where were you last Saturday Night @ 10:23PM? The Hurls was throwing down hard with Mitch Ryder. My buddy Retro Kimmer quipped; "That guy could sing the phone book to me anytime". At 68 years old, he can still wail like Marvin Gaye after drinking 6 Red Bulls and no one in the biz can shake a tambourine like Mitch. Had a great seat right between my old friend Martin Agosta and the guy shooting this video, dead nuts center, just 20' or so from the stage... Good Times. Pure Michigan.

Mitch Ryder's release gig for his new CD "The Promise" (Detroit Ain't Dead Yet) & autobiography "Devils & Blue Dresses" At Callahan's this past Saturday night was the hottest ticket in Detroit. At 68 this man still leads the pack in innovation and killer style.

I had a friend at the gig last Saturday... and maybe, just maybe, you might have seen Kimmer off to the right of stage... with no cameras... incognito...:)

Your summation of the festivities at
Callahans was spot on Kimmer. Wild Horses couldn't keep the majority of the assembled away from that gig. Mitch's current band was a tight outfit, playing like soldiers in winter's night with a vow to defend, no retreat baby...no surrender. A scorching set topped off by their encore of "Voodoo Child" was over the top. Delivering a sonic aural blast of harmonic jams that engendered deep gratitude for being raised in Michigan, Mitch left the crowd satiated and screaming for more. On this magic night, many lives were indeed; "Saved by rock n' Roll".
