5 DIFFERENT THINGS TO DO FOR FUN THIS WEEKEND
The weekend’s coming up and you already know the drill. Saturday is a takeout night where you binge Netflix and feast on chow mein.
But if you’re down for something different this weekend. And as you search for things to do for fun, you realize an assortment of activities are available.
So what do you do? Here are five suggestions to help you out.
1. Invite Friends Over for a Night In
Instead of heading to the local bar, invite your buddies over and make a night of it. Bring out old board games like Monopoly and Scrabble to keep you all entertained. Or grab a pack of cards and have everyone pick a new game to try.
You could also throw a BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) Party when people supply you with everything from beers to hamburgers to throw on the BBQ. And when it gets dark, make a bonfire in your garden and enjoy one another’s company.
2. Explore the Great Outdoors
One of the best things to do is to spend time outdoors. You don't need to go on a road trip; instead, head to the park and pack a picnic for lunch. If your park has a lake, while away the afternoon fishing with friends and catch your dinner.
3. Visit Local Museums
Check your city's official website for any free museums or exhibitions in your area. Or head to the local planetarium if you have an interest in science and space. It’s a great way to drink in the sky’s view and many planetariums have special shows over the weekend.
4. Go to an Escape Room
Another fun thing to do is to head to an escape room. Round up your friends and enjoy the themed room where you have limited time to complete your mission and escape.
Hunt for hidden clues and solve puzzles around the room. So open books, lift up rugs and inspect the paintings on the walls. It’s a great way to practice your team-building skills and work on your speed, creativity, and patience.
5. Rent a Bicycle or Boat
Before you Google “how to have fun this weekend,” take advantage of your city’s bicycle rentals and explore or spend the day cycling in the countryside.
Another idea for things to do is to rent a boat with friends.
If you’re not into sailboats, rent a rowboat, paddle-boat, or kayak for a tranquil afternoon.
Now You Know Which Things to Do for Fun
Break out of your weekly routine and try new things to do for fun. You don’t have to break the bank to host a game night or flex your detective skills in an escape room. Take advantage of your city for exciting ways to spend a weekend. Have fun!
