In 1974, ... Hi Kim:<br /><br />Nice write up on the Guess Who.<br />In 1974, while going to Grand Valley Ste College, I did a radio<br />interview w/Bob Seger. He was warming up for the Guess Who at Calvin<br />College in Grand Rapids.<br /><br />I was one of those music snobs weaned on WABX that thought that they<br />weren't "cool". I told Bob as much after the interview. He told me I<br />didn't know what I was missing. He practically guaranteed I'd dig them.<br /><br />He was right. They knocked me out and I managed to get a nice interview<br />with Burton Cumming after their set.<br /><br />Wait, there's more. In my last year at GVSC, Seger and his band did a<br />show on our campus. I did an interview with Bob and reminded him about<br />his recommendation. We laughed about it, said "I told you so" several<br />times, gave me a tambourine and reminded me to keep my mind open.<br /><br />Funny how we forget to keep our minds open after growing up in the 60's.<br /><br />keep up the posting....<br /><br />PatrickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
