Exciting news! Hopefully Netflix will film a series that is worthy of C.S. Lewis' books! the movies never did the books justice in my opinion...I am really hoping the new series will be fantastic!

Hollywood, Calif. - October 2018 -- Netflix will develop new series and film projects based on C.S. Lewis’ beloved The Chronicles of Narnia series. Under the terms of a multi-year deal between Netflix and The C.S. Lewis Company, Netflix will develop classic stories from across the Narnia universe into series and films for its members worldwide.

All series and films produced through the deal will be Netflix productions, with Mark Gordon of Entertainment One (eOne) alongside Douglas Gresham and Vincent Sieber serving as executive producers for series and as producers for features. In total the Narnia books have sold more than 100 million copies and been translated in more than 47 languages worldwide. The deal marks the first time that rights to the entire seven books of the Narnia universe have been held by the same company.

Lewis’ beloved Chronicles of Narnia stories have resonated with generations of readers around the world,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. “Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come.”

ZIMBABWE ASKS USA FOR EXTRADITION OF CECIL THE LION KILLER

(CNN ) As outrage grows over the killing of Cecil the lion, Zimbabwe has called on the United States to extradite the American dentist who shot the prized big cat this month.

Zimbabwe has started extradition proceedings and hopes the U.S. will cooperate, said Oppah Muchinguri, the African nation's environment minister.

Walter Palmer "had a well-orchestrated agenda which would tarnish the image of Zimbabwe and further strain the relationship between Zimbabwe and the U.S.A.," Muchinguri said.

"This must be condemned in the strongest possible terms by all genuine, animal-loving conservationists who believe in sustainable utilization of natural resources."
American dentist says he regrets killing famed lion

Palmer, from Minnesota, allegedly paid $50,000 this month to hunt the lion with a crossbow near Hwange National Park in western Zimbabwe.

It turned out to be Cecil -- a major tourist draw at Hwange -- who had been lured out of the park sanctuary with a dead animal on top of a vehicle, according to the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force.

The 13-year-old lion, recognizable by the black streaks in his mane, suffered a slow death, the conservation group said. Read More
