ELECTION DAY FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE BLOOD BEAVER MOON!

November’s full Beaver Moon reaches peak illumination in the morning hours of Tuesday, November 8—Election Day! In addition, the Beaver Moon will also be plunged into a total lunar eclipse!

Space: On Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, the moon will pass through the shadow of Earth resulting in a total lunar eclipse that will be from Oceania, the Americas, Asia, and Northern Europe.

The eclipse will begin at 4:10 a.m. EST (0810 GMT) and will end at approximately 7:49 a.m. EDT (1149 GMT) when the moon once again emerges. The total eclipse period is shorter than this, however, and will last from 5:17 a.m. EST (0917 GMT) to 6:42 a.m. EST (1042 GMT).

As the moon is in Earth's shadow, light from the sun is blocked making the moon appear less bright. As the eclipse proceeds, the moon's disk will eventually appear unilluminated directly by the Sun but some light still hits the moon.

FULL STRAWBERRY MOON WITH PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE

The full moon of June, also called the Strawberry Moon, will begin Friday, June 5, at 3:12 p.m. EDT (1912 GMT), just a few minutes before entering a penumbral lunar eclipse, according to NASA's SkyCal.

A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned. When this happens, the Earth blocks some of the Sun's light from directly reaching the Moon's surface and covers all or part of the Moon with the outer part of its shadow, also known as the penumbra.

Observers in Detroit will see the full moon set at about 5:17 a.m. local time on June 5, according to timeanddate.com, and it will rise that day at 8:29 p.m. local time. The lunar eclipse starts at 1:47 p.m. and ends at 5:05 p.m., so the moon will be below the horizon in North America and much of South America.

The next full moon will be:
Friday * 5 June 2020 * 3:12:23 pm (EDT)
Moon sign: Sagittarius 15° 34'

FULL WOLF MOON WITH LUNAR ECLIPSE JAN 10 2020

A penumbral lunar eclipse will take place on 10 January 2020. It will be the first of four penumbral lunar eclipses in 2020.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind Earth and into its shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely aligned, with Earth between the other two. A lunar eclipse can occur only on the night of a full moon.

BLOOD MOON JULY 27 WILL HAVE LONGEST LUNAR ECLIPSE IN A CENTURY

The Spiritual Meaning Of The Blood Moon In July 2018 Will Bring Major Change To Your Life

A lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, Earth, and moon are directly aligned, and the moon's orbit brings it directly into Earth's shadow. During the eclipse, the moon will pass through the darkest region of Earth's shadow, known as the umbra, which will give the moon a reddish "blood moon" sheen.

FULL BLUE MOON AND TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE TOMORROW!

In recent years, people have been using the name Blue Moon for the second of two full moons in a single calendar month. An older definition says a Blue Moon is the third of four full moons in a single season. ... The term once in a blue moon used to mean something rare.

The full moon will be on Wednesday (or Thursday for different time zones)! It is the second full moon in January, a so called "blue moon". Simultaneously, a total lunar eclipse will take place!

*** Our (second) full moon thought for January ***
Being human entails contradictions. And opposites. And can sometimes create feelings of not understanding life with all its turmoil. Is this uncertainty a part of it? Is it maybe even necessary in order to remain receptive towards new questions? Do we envision the search for answers as an image of security, which may promise us calmness, but in reality means stagnation? It appears to be complicated. However, the ancient teachings of wisdom encourage us to entrust ourselves to the uncertainty. It surely would be worth a try …

SNOW MOON-LUNAR ECLIPSE-COMET FEB 10-11 2017

SNOW MOON

On February 10, we are not going to be treated to not just one celestial event on the same day but three. A lunar eclipse, snow moon and New Year comet should all be visible this Friday night into Saturday morning.

Penumbral lunar eclipse

Eagle-eyed skywatchers will see a "penumbral" lunar eclipse Friday evening during the full moon.

An unusual green comet reaches maximum brightness on Saturday, providing a sweet treat for early-morning risers.

Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova (named after three astronomers who discovered it in 1948) travels into the inner solar system every 5.25 years. On Saturday, 45P will pass just 7.4 million miles from Earth, a stone's throw by celestial yardsticks.

Not as spectacular — or noticeable — as a total lunar eclipse, this rather subtle phenomenon occurs when the moon moves through the outer part of Earth’s shadow (known as the penumbra), according to EarthSky.org.

The outer shadow of the Earth blocks part — but not all — of the sun's rays from reaching the moon, making it appear slightly darker than usual.

The exact moment of the penumbral eclipse is 7:43 p.m. ET (6:43 p.m. CT, 5:43 p.m. MT and 4:43 p.m. PT), NASA said.

The eclipse will be visible from Europe, Africa, western Asia and eastern North and South America, NASA reports.

About 35% of all eclipses are of the penumbral type.

A Penumbral Lunar Eclipse Leads the Way to Easter Weekend

22 Mar , 2016 by David Dickinson

The first of two lunar eclipses for 2016 occurs this week, though it’s an event so subtle, you might not notice it at first glance. We’re talking about Wednesday evening’s (morning for North America) penumbral lunar eclipse.

If a total solar eclipse such as the one that crossed Indonesia and the Pacific Ocean earlier this month is the ultimate astronomical experience, then a penumbral lunar eclipse is at the other end of the spectrum, a ghostly shading on the Moon that is barely noticeable. Read More Here

☆SUPER RED BLOOD MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE 9-27-2015☆

(Eastern US)The Super Moon will rise in the east Sunday evening around 6:30 PM and begin to eclipse a little after 8 PM. The sky is expected to be clear and the air mild for the total eclipse with temperatures around 60, dropping into the upper 50s, and a southwesterly breeze around 10 mph. Sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere will result in reddish colors on the moon during the eclipse, just as it does in our sky during sunrise and sunset.

A total lunar eclipse will spawn a rare and dramatic super red blood moon on Sept. 27, 2015.

Super moons occur when the moon reaches its full phase at or near the satellite's closest approach to Earth, and appears abnormally large and bright as a result.

The Sept. 27 event is quite special; the last super moon eclipse occurred in 1982, and the next won't take place until 2033.

People in the US Will Get Front Row Seats

People in eastern and central areas of the United States and Canada will have some of the best views of the Total Lunar Eclipse on the night of September 27, 2015, weather permitting. Here, the eclipse will begin after moon rise and finish around midnight (00:00 on September 28).

Those on the West Coast will miss the beginning stages of the eclipse because they will happen before moon rise.

It will be the last Total Lunar Eclipse visible from mainland USA until January 31, 2018.
