GOSPEL LEGEND CECE WINANS RELEASES NEW SONG “BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN”

NEW YORK, April 24, 2018 – Grammy award-winning gospel artist Cece Winans has released a new gospel version of the song, “Beautifully Broken,” written by Jenny Slate Lee and pop artist Plumb. The moving song serves as title track for the upcoming feature film of the same name, Beautifully Broken, in theaters August 24th.

There are three unique versions of the song with Dove award-winning pop singer Plumb, and Grammy award-winning country artist, John Berry, recording their own renditions to spread the uplifting track’s message across genres.

“I know a lot of broken people will be healed through this song and that inspires me,” says Cece Winans. “Once I heard it I felt it had a powerful message so I was honored to record it."

The song, released through Pure Springs Gospel/D3 Music Group, was produced by Winans’ son Alvin Love III and Grammy Award-winning producer Warryn Campbell, and co-produced by Rodney Jones Jr., and Clyde Duffie. The touching lyrics of “Beautifully Broken,” combined with the emotional delivery by CeCe Winans, creates a powerful experience that reflects the impactful nature of the film.

Produced by Big Film Factory, the film Beautifully Broken is about a refugee’s escape, a prisoner’s promise, and a daughter’s painful secret that converge in this inspiring true story of hope. As three fathers fight to save their families, their lives become intertwined in an unlikely journey across the globe, where they learn the healing power of forgiveness and reconciliation.

The Beautifully Broken cast includes Scott William Winters (Lethal Weapon television series, Good Will Hunting), Benjamin Onyango (God’s Not Dead, Inception), Emily Hahn (Toy Story 3, Fresh Off The Boat television series), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, The Expendables), Jessica Obilom (Trafficked), Caitlin Nicol-Thomas (Nashville television series), Alan Powell(Quantico television series), Eugene Khumbanyiwa (District 9), Tammi Arender (Pitch Perfect 2), and television personality Thomasina “Goo Goo” Atkins (Mary Mary series). Christian music legends Toby McKeehan and Michael W. Smith also make appearances in the film.

According to reports, Tina Turner herself was in London last week to attend a private workshop with an initial cast of 14. They will work from an initial draft of a book by Olivier Award winning playwright Katori Hall (The Mountaintop) in collaboration with director Phyllida Lloyd (Donmar's Shakespeare Trilogy, Mamma Mia!).

The forthcoming TINA TURNER musical is said to be a musical biography, chronicling her journey from rags to riches, to rags again, and ultimately to icon status. From growing up in the small town of Nutbush, to her stormy marrage to fellow musician Ike Turner, Tina Turner escaped his abuse before recording the brilliant comeback album Private Dancer in 1985 which propelled her to mega stardom.

Some of Tina Turner's greatest hits include "Fool In Love", "Proud Mary", "Nutbush City Limits", "What’s Love Got To Do With It", "I Don’t Wanna Fight" and "Simply The Best".

TINA The Musical: Opens 2018

Dutch musical producer and business man Joop van den Ende has announced he will collaborate with Tina Turner on a musical production of her life. He just revealed the first details about the show this past December 16 on Dutch television.

For several years, Joop has been negotiating with Tina, visiting her several times in Zurich. Last weekend, the contract was finally signed, when Tina and her husband Erwin Bach visited Joop and his wife at their home in The Netherlands.
