NEW RELEASE FROM ITALY'S GARAGE PUNK BAND CRIMINAL PARTY!

Founded in 1986 by Fabio Vinciguerra, guitarist and author, Criminal Party was one of the first Italian garage punk band with a female voice and songs with Italian lyrics.

After several local concerts and a participation in a radio program of the Rai-regional on the most interesting emerging groups of the period, they splitted up in 1988. Some songs of this period are found as bonus tracks in the 1st CD released in 1999 with new members.

This CD was well reviewed by the most popular Italian magazines.
They split up again in 2001 after participating at an important Italian tour organized by TIM.

Reformed with new members, they released a new digital EP "Votate me" with socio-political themes in 2013. This EP is more pop oriented with garage sounds than the previous CD.

The new CD (with new two vocalist), “La revolution bourgeois” (the bourgeois revolution), which will also have a physical CD version, is more punkish with reminiscent of the late ’70 California sound.

The themes, once again, are focused on politics and the current crisis of the bourgeois middle class due to the power of the world establishment.

SOLE SURVIVOR OF NORTHWEST FLIGHT 255 FEATURED IN NEW FILM

Northwest Flight 255 crash site at I 94 at Middlebelt Rd

August 17, 1987 I had just finished a Super Sale Show in Lexington Kentucky.. My hotel was really nice so I decided to stay over and hang out in Lexington for another day.  I didn't use my plane ticket to fly home that night.

I often flew home in between shows and carried many tickets in my bag.  That night I gave my ticket to another of my crew so she could rest up at home.

One of my crew and I were watching TV and the horrific news of the crash of flight 255 came on CNN.  I immediately picked up the phone and called my mother in Ypsilanti.  She hesitantly answered with a faint "hello".

When I began to speak.. Mom dissolved into tears. She thought I might have been on that plane.  At that point they didn't know if the flight was taking off or landing.  It would have been the correct landing time for my ticket. As it turned out, flight 255 was taking off.

The lone survivor of the aircraft was four-year-old Cecelia Cichan of Tempe, Arizona. Her mother, Paula Cichan, died in the crash, along with her father, Michael, and her 6-year-old brother, David. After the crash, Cecelia Cichan lived with relatives in Birmingham, Alabama, who shielded her from public attention.

 Cichan family

One of the passengers on Northwest 255 who died was Nick Vanos, a center for the Phoenix Suns basketball team. Two motorists on nearby Middlebelt Road also died. Five other persons on the ground were injured, one seriously. Fatalities were moved to a hangar at the airport functioning as a temporary morgue

Now, 25 years later, Cecelia Crocker has decided to tell her story as part of a new documentary called Sole Survivor featuring passengers who lived through plane crashes against all odds.

Cecelia said that she had finally decided to open up about the crash because the film was a group project “and that’s why I’m willing to get involved and be part of something bigger”.

Cecelia has kept in touch with the families of those who died in the 1987 crash – including her rescuer Lt Thiede.

Lt Thiede

He met her for the first time as an adult on her wedding day when he watched her walk down the aisle to become Cecelia Crocker. He said: “To see her come down the aisle, my heart, I lost it really. Just to see her in person was something.”

Northwest Airlines Flight 255 originated at Tri-City Airport in Saginaw, Michigan, and was scheduled to terminate at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, with intermediate stops at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Romulus, Michigan, near Detroit, and at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, Arizona.

 McDonnell Douglas MD-82

The flight, made by a McDonnell Douglas MD-82, crashed after takeoff in Romulus on August 16, 1987, at about 20:46 EDT (8:46 p.m. local time, 00:46 UTC August 17), killing all of the crew and passengers except for a 4-year-old girl, Cecelia Cichan, who sustained serious injuries, according to a report by the FAA's Office of Aviation Research.

At the time, it was the second-deadliest aviation accident in United States and the second-deadliest involving the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series, and as of 2013 is the fourth-deadliest in both categories.

Flight 255 made its takeoff roll on Detroit's Runway 3C at approximately 8:45 p.m. EDT with Capt. Maus at the controls. The plane lifted off the runway at 170 knots (195 mph, 315 km/h) and soon began to roll from side to side at a height just under 50 feet (15 m) above the ground.

The MD-82 went into a stall and rolled 40 degrees to the left when it struck a light pole near the end of the runway, severing 18 feet (5.5 m) of its left wing and igniting jet fuel stored in the wing.

It then rolled 90 degrees to the right, and its right wing tore through the roof of an Avis rental car building. The plane, now uncontrolled, crashed inverted onto Middlebelt Road and hit vehicles just north of the intersection of Wick Rd.

The aircraft then broke apart, the fuselage skidded across the road, and then disintegrated and erupted into flames as it hit a railroad overpass and the overpass of eastbound Interstate 94

The movie focuses on Crocker — known as Cecelia Cichan at the time of the crash — as well as three other "sole survivors" of plane crashes: George Lamson Jr., a then 17-year-old from Plymouth, Minn., who was aboard a Galaxy Airlines flight that crashed in Reno, Nev., in 1985; Bahia Bakari, a 12-year-old girl who lived through a Yemenia Airways flight that crashed near the Comoros Islands in 2009; and Jim Polehinke, the copilot of a 2006 Comair flight that crashed in Lexington, Ky.

THE REFLECTIONS **NEW LIMERANCE LP**

The Reflections

Just in time for long and dreamy summer days, LA's The Reflections release their shimmering debut, the Limerence LP (Arc Recordings). The ten-track album melds swaggering guitars, infectious harmonies and chugging basslines for a robust indie rock soundscape.

Led by Darian Zahedi and Jon Safley (the current drummer in Bleached), The Reflections developed when the two began to email lyrics and voice memos back and forth while on the road with other projects.

They later collaborated in the studio with famed engineer and producer, Kenny Woods (Jenny Lewis, Lykke Li, Vampire Weekend) at Brightstreet Recorders and the pair spent the fall of 2012 introducing their sound with singles like the dreamy, "Summer Days" and the post-punk tinged, "Disconnected," as well as the "Disconnected (Gardens & Villa Remix)".

STELLAR CORPSES VIDEO RELEASE: VIPER ROOM

Stellar Corpses Band Info

“We met in the drunk tank. I came to, and there they were! The acoustics were great, but it gets pretty boring when your only audience is the police.” – Dusty Grave, lead singer, Stellar Corpses.

Well, if that leaves you with your jaw on the floor, read on.

The band’s sense of humor is evident in the above quote. The four guys in Stellar Corpses (which literally means “dead stars”) not only rock, but are also intelligent, cool people and have kick ass personalities. Their album Dead Stars Drive-In (Santa Carla Records) drops on January 24, 2012. And they’re not bad to look at either, for all the females reading this.

Good looks aside, they can rock the hell out of any venue they play. They’re hard core rockers to the bone, and they prove it every time they hit the stage or whenever their music is played. Their new album, Dead Stars Drive-In (Santa Carla Records), will be released on January 24, 2012, and was produced by Joe McGrath (AFI, Tiger Army, Alkaline Trio and many more). “It was amazing to record in the same place that so many of my influences recorded,” Dusty exudes. “Black Flag, Descendents and Pennywise to name a few. And working with Joe McGrath was incredible. He helped us to make the best record of our lives. “We are excited to have some really special guests on the album like Hunter Burgan (AFI), Jade Puget (AFI) and Michale Graves (Misfits)!”

Stellar Corpses list their musical influences as Elvis, Black Flag, Social Distortion, Stray Cats, Bad Religion, Black Sabbath, AFI, The Misfits, Danzig, Rancid, Sepultura and Megadeth.

With a mix like that, it’s no wonder Stellar Corpses blended their musical tastes into something really special. Says the whole band, “We hope we can inspire some young kid who’s life is changing and needs some music to relate to. Morbid music saves lives…we don’t care what anyone says.”

VIDEO RELEASE PARTY!!

WHO: Santa Cruz punk rockers Stellar Corpses

WHAT: Video premiere and party for single “Vampire Kiss”

WHEN: Sunday, October 30, 8:00pm

WHERE: The Viper Room, downstairs, 8852 W. Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90069

MORE:

On October 30, Stellar Corpses will be debuting/screening their new video for “Vampire Kiss.” There will also be a raffle and a band meet-and-greet.

The video for “Vampire Kiss” is a wink and a nod to a certain cult classic movie that was shot in Santa Cruz. “Shooting a professional video was a new experience for us, so we didn't know what to expect,”

Dusty continues. “We knew director Justin Janowitz was good, but we didn't know he was THAT good! Watching him pour himself into his work was truly inspirational. He is a real artist, fully present in every aspect of the project from casting to location scouting to set design to making sure each shot was perfect.

He made it really easy for us to get into our roles as artists and entertainers. It being our first pro video, we were all pretty nervous, but Justin and his awesome crew helped us relax and deliver the best performance possible.”

The video also boasts cameos from producer Joe McGrath (Tiger Army, Offspring, Alkaline Trio, AFI, etc.), who produced Dead Stars Drive-In, and AFI’s Hunter Bergan, who sings backup vocals on the track. “Working with Hunter Burgan was amazing.

He took the video to a deeper, darker level, which was perfect... way more than we expected. When I heard he was going to do a cameo, we thought he would just walk by in the background and then bail, but he didn't. He fully embraced his role and brought some serious intensity to the set.”

Stellar Corpses release their full album Dead Stars Drive In (Santa Carla Records) on January 24, 2012, and release the “Vampire Kiss” single on iTunes on Halloween 2011, the day after the video premiere event.
