TRUE CRIME WRITER ANN RULE HAS DIED AT 83

One of my favorite writers has died. She certainly lived her life doing what she loved. Helping the families of victims of murder. Ms Rule was a wonderful lady and I emailed with her on many occasions back in the 1990s. My thoughts and prayers to her daughter Leslie and her many friends and loyal readers.

SEATTLE -- Family members confirm true crime writer and Seattle native Ann Rule has died.

Rule's daughter Leslie says her mother had gone to the emergency room last week and had a heart attack while she was there. She says her mother passed away a few days later.

Family members were able to visit rule in the hospital before she passed. She was 79.

Rule lived in Normandy Park, Washington and had four adult children, including author Leslie Rule

Rule has written more than 30 best-selling true crime novels, chronicling some of the most heinous murders. Her 1980 tale The Stranger Beside Me detailed her time working on a crisis hotline with serial killer Ted Bundy.

Janet S... I never imagined she could actually die... No one could write stories with such rich detail.. So much background on the victims life- compassionate and caring.. Even though the crimes she wrote about were heinous- she managed to say a little about that part and moved on. Made you care and remember the victims.. Blessings to get family- she will be missed
