This season of films was pretty good. I was disappointed in The Irishman, though Joe Pesci was wonderful. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was saved by Brad Pitt. He's nominated for Supporting Actor but should have been in the Lead category. Joaquin Phoenix will most likely win for Lead Actor in Joker. He is always good but how many more Joker movies must we endure?? Enough already...
The 92nd Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the Dolby® Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. Full List of Nominees

There was a wide assortment of films to see this year, way better than last year. The biggest buzz is about 3 Billboards which had really great acting but the story was too dull and tedious, we are still waiting for something to happen... The Post with Tom Hanks was good like a normal Tom movie but it wasn't spectacular.
The Darkest Hour was lacking for me due to the John Lithgow portrayal of Winston Churchill in The Crown Netflix Series. Lithgow owned Churchill! He was way better than Gary Oldman. Dunkirk was very well done except we already know that story.
The best film for pure fantasy entertainment was The Shape of Water. The lead actress was so good and my land I love Richard Jenkins in anything! He steals every scene! Even with a big aquaman in the bathroom he ruled! Loved Octavia Spencer trying to keep the story moving along! Any hoo, please leave comments about your favorites below the post plzz. xoK

The Academy Awards of 2017 are in my opinion really dull this year. Sorry but this year were really depressing to me.. Hidden Figures and Lion were the most uplifting in a LONG year of ugly politics. Hollywood really pushed their agenda on us. Tiresome to say the least. Here is to hoping that 2018 will be better. I have only 4 award picks that I would like to see:
BEST ACTRESS THIS YEAR SHOULD HAVE GONE TO TARAJI P. HENSON!

Just watched the Wolf of Wallstreet...though I love Leo DiCaprio and Marty Scorsese, I see why the Oscars basically ignored this film...WofW is almost identical to Goodfellas...but the format that worked so well on mobsters doesn't seem to work as well for degenerate stock brokers..Matthew McConaughey was funny ...gee he had a busy year in 2013.....3 STARS
This is positively the finest exhibition ever to be shown! The Academy
Awards® is celebrating the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz! Tune in
tonight at 7e/4p on ABC.
The Wolf of Wall Street is a 2013 American biographical dark comedy directed by Martin Scorsese, based on Jordan Belfort's memoir of the same name. It was released on December 25, 2013. The screenplay was written by Terence Winter, and the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, a New York stockbroker who runs a firm that engages in securities fraud and corruption on Wall Street in the 1990s.
The film also features Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Jean Dujardin. It is the fifth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio, and the second between Scorsese and Winter after Boardwalk Empire.
"This right here is the land of opportunity. This is America." -Jordan Belfort #TheWolfOfWallStreet
