‘HEAR ME NOW’ – New Documentary 

Draws Attention to School Bullying and Encourages Hope

Nashville, TN - “Hear Me Now” strives to become the quintessential anti-school bullying documentary to change and save the lives of bullying victims. It encourages reassurance that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that victims are not alone.

It focuses on harsh realities and the positive steps that are being taken to raise awareness and prevent school bullying.

Shot through a series of moving testimonials and poignant reenactments, “Hear Me Now” is sure to reach into the hearts and minds of many.

On September 7, 2015, the producers released a second trailer to promote the powerful film. A special VIP screening will take place in Nashville, TN's historic Belcourt Theater on November 3rd, 2015. Future screenings will be announced shortly.

The statistics are staggering:

One out of every four students (22%) report being bullied during the school year (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015).

19.6% of high school students in the US report being bullied at school in the past year. 14.8% reported being bullied online (Center for Disease Control, 2014).

64 percent of children who were bullied did not report it; only 36 percent reported the bullying (Petrosina, Guckenburg, DeVoe, and Hanson, 2010).

School-based bullying prevention programs decrease bullying by up to 25% (McCallion and Feder, 2013).

The reasons for being bullied reported most often by students were looks (55%), body shape (37%), and race (16%) (Davis and Nixon, 2010).

As you can read in the information below...Betty wasn't the only punitive person involved in this case.. Betty claimed that Dan Broderick was "gaslighting" her and punishing her for trivial matters in order to remain "in control". Seems a bit petty for this very wealthy man to no longer care for his youngest child in such a public punishment as disinheriting her.

Perhaps Betty was being antagonized in the manner in which she described in her court testimony.  Doesn't clear her for murder...but Dan Broderick may have pushed her over the edge with his control tactics...in my opinion only...

Betty's children suffered more than anyone involved. They were torn between defending their only surviving parent and turning on the mother who murdered their father. Her eldest two, Kim and Dan, made every attempt to do what was morally right and they refused to support Betty emotionally at all.

Daniel Broderick, 44, and his second wife, Linda Kolkena Broderick, 28, were found dead in the master bedroom of their Hillcrest home Nov. 5. That same day, Elisabeth Broderick, Daniel's first wife, was booked on suspicion of murder. Elisabeth, 42, is scheduled to be arraigned today.

The original will, written after Daniel Broderick had filed for divorce from Elisabeth, was witnessed by Linda Kolkena. In it, he provided for Elisabeth to collect her interest in their community property "without probate administration or court order." The rest of his belongings, however, were to be divided among all of his and Elisabeth's children.

But two years later, after the divorce was official, he amended his will to exclude Lee Broderick, who now lives in Pacific Beach. The will contains no explanation for the change. The amendment, which listed Broderick as "unmarried," also omitted all reference to Elisabeth.

According to a search warrant affidavit filed by police, Elisabeth Broderick went to Lee's apartment the morning that Daniel and Linda were killed. She gave Lee her purse, in which police later found a.38-caliber revolver police believe was used in the shootings.

The will dictates that the Broderick estate is divided equally among the three other children, who will receive half of the principal of their trusts at age 25 and the remaining half at age 30. Larry Broderick, Daniel's brother, is the executor of the estate.
