FULL SNOW MOON FEBRUARY 16 2022

According to the Farmers Almanac, the name of the moon dates back to the 1760s when Captain Jonathan Carver, said after a visit with Native American tribes, the moon was dubbed the “Snow Moon,” because “most snow commonly falls during this month than any other in the winter.”

Like many other full moons, this one has a variety of names. It’s also known as the Storm or Hunter Moon; the Wolf or Candles Moon; the Bald Eagle Moon or Eagle Moon; Bear Moon or Black Bear Moon. The Dakota called this the Raccoon Moon, and certain Algonquin peoples named it the Groundhog Moon. The Haida named it Goose Moon, the Farmers Almanac reported.

February’s full Snow Moon reaches peak illumination at 3:19 A.M. EST on Saturday, February 27. For the best view of this Moon, look for it on the night of Friday, February 26; it will drift above the horizon in the east around sunset and reach its highest point in the sky around midnight. WHY IS IT CALLED THE SNOW MOON?

The full Moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a number of places, including Native American, Colonial American, and European sources. Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not just to the full Moon itself.

The February Full Moon is named after the snow on the ground. Some Native American tribes named this the Hunger Moon; others called it the Storm Moon.

In ancient times, it was common to track the changing seasons by following the lunar month rather than the solar year, which the 12 months in our modern calendar are based on.

For millennia, people across Europe, as well as Native American tribes, named the months after features they associated with the Northern Hemisphere seasons, and many of these names are very similar or identical.

He wasn't always Saul Goodman, ace attorney for chemist-turned-meth dealer Walter White. Six years before he begins to represent Albuquerque's most notorious criminal, Goodman is Jimmy McGill, a small-time attorney hustling to make a name for himself.

He's a forceful champion for his low-income clients, an underdog whose morals and ambitions often clash. Jimmy works with private eye Mike Ehrmantraut, a former Philadelphia cop and recent transplant to the Southwest. Mike has a specialized skill set -- he's a "fixer" of sticky situations -- that Jimmy soon learns to appreciate.

Why are so many people under pressure? Time pressure, financial pressure, performance pressure ... it almost seems as if life could only function in this way. Is it really the case that we people need pressure or the impulse from outside to get moving?

Is the inner motivation in many of us so submerged that it cannot be effective anymore? How would it be, if just for one day, we would act out of the inner desire instead of waiting for the outside pressure to make us move ...
