ANN ARBOR SKATE PARK GRAND OPENING THIS SATURDAY!!

 

On June 21, 2014, we’re celebrating the grand opening of the Ann Arbor Skatepark. Oh yeah, Tony Hawk’s going to celebrate with us! Click the “see more” link for a schedule of the day’s events!

The grand opening event will feature:

Official ribbon cutting ceremony!
Pro skateboarding demo with Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, Alex Sorgente, Tony Magnusson, Ron Allen, Garold Vallie, and more! Skateboarding contests, beginner skate lessons, live music, DJs Jamie Register and Cataclysmic spinning all day! Vendors area, too many giveaways to list, and more cool stuff throughout the day!

We will have TONS of A2skatepark swag available at the grand opening! If you want to get your A2skatepark shirt/deck/hat/stickers, etc… before the event, visit our Square store.

10:00 am to 11:00 am
Beginner skate lessons from Max Davis
Contest: Beginner street course jam put on by Launch Board Shop 


11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Official ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks by representatives from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant, Washtenaw County Parks Commission, City of Ann Arbor, Friends of the Ann Arbor Skatepark, and other VIPs from across the state of Michigan.

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Contest: Intermediate street course jam put on by Launch Board Shop


1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Contest: Advanced street course jam put on by Launch Board Shop
Live music from Scissors Now!

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Contest: Advanced bowl jam put on by Launch Board Shop  


Live music from Hullaballoo

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Skateboarding!
Live music from Mazinga

4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
