13. Well, for starters, information written in listicle form. Admit it. We’ve either hit rock bottom or are grabbing internet culture right by its horns. Say what you will, but chances are… you were not expecting this.

12. But let’s talk talent. And when we say talent, there are only three words that come to mind: Mary, J. and Blige. Which is why we’re thrilled to announce that the one and only Mary J. Blige will be performing live at the American Music Awards. Ms. Blige is on the verge of releasing her 13th studio album “The London Sessions,” this December, and will bring her one of a kind vocals to our stage to remind the world that she’s considered the most successful woman in R&B for the last 25 years. (No word yet on whether or not Lebron James will arrive unannounced to duet with her, but we can only hope.)

11. Now seems like a good time to remind you that the AMAs are completely voted on by the fans. Yes, you. The fans. Quite literally “rocking the vote” via our Coca-Cola AMA voting site, AMAvote.com, as well as on Twitter by including the nominee’s name, category name and #AMAs within a tweet. And remember what your mother used to say: You’re never too old to publicly vote for 5 Seconds Of Summer. (No? Just our moms? #coolmom)

10. And speaking of 5SOS, you’ll be quietly whispering 5SO-YES when you find out that the band is now officially part of the AMAs performance roster. *we’ll wait while you quietly shriek into your office cardigan* 5 Seconds of Summer is responsible for this year’s hit “She Looks So Perfect” (whose music video has raked in a mere 88 million views…) and are currently on tour with that other young group of misfits One Direction. (Just imagine all the backstage hijinx those boys are getting into.) And the best news? It’s totally OK to have weird feelings for them since as they are all 18. Bet you weren’t expecting that.

9. But don’t feel too left out, fellas. Iggy Azalea is up for six awards—more than any other nominee. She’s so fancy, but you already know. So why are we still rambling on about it? Good point, Fancy Drew.

8. Hot off the heels of Iggy’s “Fancy” and her hit “Boom Clap,” Charli XCX, the 22 year old British phenom, is also scheduled to perform. Or, as the Romans call her, Charli 100. (Less catchy, but still chock full of talent.)

7. Our host, Pitbull, will refuse to answer to Mr. Worldwide backstage. He will only answer to Pit, Mr. Bull, Pitbull, Mr. 305, Armando, Mr. Perez, and the King of Crunk.

6. Number 7 isn’t true.

5. Alright, so far we’ve got a stellar line-up featuring Mary J. Blige, 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX and Pitbull. A legendary assembly of talent. But you know what this list is missing? The voice of a human angel. Thankfully, we’ve taken care of that. Because joining us at the AMAs is a man who can only be described as the breakout star of 2014, Sam Smith. When he opens his mouth to sing, the heavens descend upon us mortals. His single “Stay With Me” hit Number 1 on the Billboard Charts. And on Sunday, November 23, he will take to the stage live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE between 8:00 and 11:00p.m. ET/PT on ABC and give us a little bit of heaven on Earth.

4. We have six…. SIX… various forms of social media with which to join in on the AMAs conversation. Sure, you could probably guess all of these, but for the sake of perfection, here they are, in all of their bold-faced glory: “Wow. We’re really doing it guys.” - - The 21st Century

3. Did we mention that the show will air live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC? What’s that? We just did? Just making sure.

2. Here’s a fun thing: Right before the ABC broadcast, viewers can fire up their WIFI and watch the Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! Pre-show, which will be live-stream all of our fabulous celebrity guests and their respective AMA red carpet journeys starting at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT on November 23rd at Yahoo Live, the official digital distributor of the AMA Experience this year. You can also watch the livestream at TheAMAs.com and ABC.com. Look how many options there are! You have no excuse for missing this livestream. (I said no excuse.)

1. There are plenty more surprise reveals left for the 2014 AMAs… this is only the beginning. Follow us on Twitter @TheAMAs and maybe we’ll DM you some other surprises! (No, not pics. Relax.)

It’s one of a kid’s favorite parts of Halloween. There’s no feeling quite like waiting for a stranger to open his or her door so you can scream the words “Trick or treat!” But why do we say it? What does it actually mean? The practice of donning a costume and asking for treats from your neighbors dates back to the Middle Ages, but back then it wasn’t a game.

During the medieval practice of souling, poor people would make the rounds begging for food. In return, they offered prayers for the dead on All Souls Day. (What does the “een” in “Halloween” mean exactly? The answer lies here.)

Modern trick or treating is a custom borrowed from guising, which children still do in some parts of Scotland. Guising involves dressing in costume and singing a rhyme, doing a card trick, or telling a story in exchange for a sweet. The Scottish and Irish brought the custom to America in the 19th century.READ MORE HERE

In the past few months I have noticed this incredibly cool Detroit jeweler/artist posting his work. He creates these amazing D(Detroit)Rings.. These rings are individual pieces of art. Made completely by hand by Maui Rick.

The Start of my D

Then one day Maui posted a photo of D Pendants and Charms!! I had to have one!! So I found his store phone number and called Maui...

We hit it off like dynamite and a fuse. We agreed that I needed to have the big pendant and he created one for me! I got it today and LOVE IT...To my readers that love Detroit...Rick's jewelry is the GENUINE ARTICLE...be the coolest person in your neighborhood and sport one of these!

Here is Maui Rick with my D Pendant

Detroit....my hometown. I'm Maui Rick, and I've been a jeweler since 1972. For the last 10 years or so, I've been custom making tons of pieces of jewelry using the Old English D. I'm sure you've seen it, it's all over , on Hats, Tee shirts, on he back windows of half the cars in and around Detroit. It's been in Movies, TV shows, worn by movie stars and low life's alike. I don't think there's another single letter that's as instantly recognizable , as the D.

To me ,this single letter symbolizes what I've experienced in life. Music, great sports teams, and the feeling I get hangin In Downtown Detroit. Whether it's a sporting event, concert venue, the Casinos, The Auto show or the Bitchin Detroit Autorama!

I love Detroit ! And there's plenty of others whom agree whole heartedly with me! Bob Seger called it "The Home of Rock and Roll" Kiss dubbed it " Rock City" and Kid Rock, well , he can't say enough good things about the City he Loves. All this, along with everyone else who loves The D , has driven me to try and make the Coolest jewelry that represents Detroit.

I started with rings, then pendants. Soon I was doing earrings, bracelets, vest pins, guitar plaques, motorcycle saddlebags pins, whatever. They've been in magazines and on TV shows( no lie) and even grace the hands of some celebs . Rings continue to be the best seller. We have 16 different styles, with more to come.

Currently I'm doing some limited editions . And I can also do custom styles to suit ones individual tastes . You know you want one, it will be the coolest piece of jewelry you'll ever own. You can check them out at www.thedring.com or on Facebook The"D" Maui Rick

It is the eve of the Darcys' annual ball at their magnificent Pemberley estate. Darcy and Elizabeth, now six years married, are relaxing with their guests after supper when the festivities are brought to an abrupt halt.

A scream calls them to the window and a hysterical Lydia Wickham tumbles out of a carriage shrieking, "Murder!" What follows is the somber discovery of a dead man in Pemberley woods, a brother accused of murder, and the beginning of a nightmare that will threaten to engulf Pemberley and all the Darcys hold dear.

Adapted from P.D. James' clever whodunit, this delicious homage to Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice stars Anna Maxwell Martin (Bleak House), Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Matthew Goode (The Good Wife), and Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who). Elizabeth and Darcy never knew marriage would be like this!

Before he hits the road for his U.S. tour, Tony Lucca has shared an acoustic performance of his new single "Delilah". Stripped to it's roots and highlighting Lucca's commanding voice, the video is....HERE

Lucca's upcoming tour kicks off on October 29th in Nashville. Officially known as "The Unforgettable Night Tour", it will take him to Austin, Atlanta, New York, Boston, and the D.C. area among other key cities. The complete list of tour dates is below.

Tour Dates:

10/29/14 - Nashville, TN - 3rd & Lindsley
11/01/14 - Dallas, TX - The Prophet Bar
11/02/14 - Austin, TX - Cactus Cafe
11/04/14 - Birmingham, AL - The Workplay Theatre
11/06/14 - Jacksonville, FL - Jack Rabbits
11/07/14 - St. Petersburg, FL - Hideaway Cafe
11/12/14 - Atlanta, GA - Vinyl
11/13/14 - Charlotte, NC - Evening Muse
11/14/14 - Vienna, VA - Jammin Java
11/15/14 - Purvellville, VA - Adroit Theory Brewery

11/19/14 - Boston, MA - Tony Lucca
11/21/14 - Akron, OH - Musica
11/23/14 - Detroit, MI - Magic Stick

Lucca took a no-nonsense approach in the studio while recording his 8th studio album. Favoring guitars and acoustic drums over synths or electronic beats, the resulting sound is reminiscent of Kings of Leon or early Maroon 5 - organic, driving, and genuine.

In his own words, “We went in with the intention of making a record that was as live-sounding as possible. I wanted to close my eyes and be able to visualize the players in the room or up on the stage, actually playing the songs together. One guitar over here, the other guy over there, bass, drums, some keys? I mean, that’s the rock-n-roll I fell in love with when I was a kid.”

Pitbull is a global superstar and multi-talented powerhouse, who delivered one of the most exciting shows in American Music Awards history when he hosted in 2013. This year will be no different,” said legendary American Music Awards producer Larry Klein. “We’re working together to create elements of the show that will wow audiences and take the night to a whole new level.”

Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull, is a globally successful musician, performer, business entrepreneur, fashion icon and actor whose career sales have exceeded 5 million albums and over 60 million singles worldwide. Pitbull has had #1 hits in more than 15 countries; his videos have over 6 billion views; and his social reach matches audiences of some television networks around the world.

The King of Wands card suggests that my power today lies in personal power. I inspire transformation, respect and support by discrete but charismatic example and tolerance. I am an instrument for dynamic, responsible, or passionate expansion that serves or protects the greater good of my legacy. I am a master of the universe and I am empowered with a reputation of experience, credibility and momentum and I transform through integrity.

The King of Wands is an indication that you are someone who is very visionary and goal-oriented. You achieve a lot because you are very clear about your future direction and how you will get there. You do not waste your time on activities or relationships that you believe will lead no-where. You never just go with the flow, instead you prefer to embark on a strong and direct course of action.

The appearance of the King of Wands also suggests that an opportunity is presenting itself to you, and you now have the power to accept the opportunity and take on the challenge. You are the determining factor in this situation, and circumstances will navigate in the direction you steer them. Indecision or doubt will not be appropriate responses when clarity and confidence are required. However, as you progress in this new role, it will begin to feel more comfortable.

Oscar de la Renta, a fashion designer whose gowns have been a staple at red-carpet events, died Monday at 82, a spokesman for his wife confirmed.

Óscar Arístides de la Renta Fiallo (July 22, 1932 – October 20, 2014) was a Dominican American fashion designer. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, De la Renta was trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo, he became internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy.

An award-winning designer, he worked for Lanvin and Balmain; his eponymous fashion house continues to dress leading figures, from film stars to royalty, into the 2010s. De la Renta is particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear.

Nearly every first lady in modern history, including Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Michelle Obama have worn his designs. Vogue Editor Anna Wintour was also a big proponent of his designs, which she wears often. READ MORE

This September 1926 photo was taken at the Harmsworth Race on the Detroit River. In the foreground are Gar Wood’s Miss America’s III, IV, and V. On the right is the Excelsior-France challenger.

On the left is the Evangeline, with Ray Dahlinger on the deck, Henry Ford behind the wheel in the light suit with his foot partially covering the name EVANGELINE on the side, and Evangeline Dahlinger over his right shoulder.

Also in this photo far left is Horace Dodge, and standing center-right on the dock in white coveralls is Garfield Wood. The tall, narrow white-sided yacht in the background is Gar Wood’s 70-foot Gar Sr.

Guest Post by Henry Dominguez

Just when we thought we had come across everything about Evangeline Dahlinger, something new arises. Check out this story for some amazing material on Henry Ford’s speedboat, which he named—believe it or not—Evangeline.

After researching Ford history for the past forty years, I, too, had just found out about this boat (although the material in this website is new material to me).

I was reading the Reminiscences of Al Esper, one of Henry Ford’s employees who was a mechanic and worked on his and Edsel’s boats, and he mentions in his interview that Henry had a speedboat named Evangeline. (Later, Esper became manager of the Ford test track.)

The Ace of Wands is also indicative of a time in your life where you have a ‘breakthrough moment’ and feel very inspired and motivated about a particular idea or passion. Your eyes have been opened to a whole new world and you are now very excited about the possibilities and the opportunities that are available to you.

You are showing huge potential at this time and are driven by a strong, creative force. It is as if there is a latent talent within that is just bursting to get out and be fully utilised. This is also a perfect time to draw upon your imagination and to make your dreams reality.

using creative force

showing enthusiasm
feeling fired up and eager creating an aura of excitement being ready to tackle the world inspiring others sustaining optimism giving 110%
