Inspired by actual events, Pure tells the story of Noah Funk, a newly-elected Mennonite pastor, who’s determined to rid his community of drug traffickers. He’ll stop at nothing to protect his family, his people and his faith-based way of life.
But, by doing so, he violates the Mennonite principle of non-resistance which raises the central question posed by the series – the perennial moral dilemma at the heart of the human experience: “How do we fight evil without becoming evil ourselves?”
Pure stars Ryan Robbins (Arrow, The Killing), Alex Paxton-Beesley (Guilty at 17), AJ Buckley (Seal Team, Narcos), Peter Outerbridge (Orphan Black) and Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Rosie Perez.
Today, Audible released ALIEN: SEA OF SORROWS, the third installment in the Audible Original series set between the first two Alien films that started with Alien: Out of the Shadows, and continued with Alien: River of Pain.
Set 300 years after the events of Alien: Out of the Shadows and Alien: River of Pain, Alien: Sea of Sorrows deals with the rediscovery of dormant Xenomorphs (Aliens) in the abandoned mines of LV-178, the planetoid from Alien: Out of the Shadows, which has now been terraformed and renamed New Galveston.
The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, reformed after the collapse of the United Systems Military, continue their unceasing efforts to weaponise the creatures, eliciting the help of Alan Decker, who is forced to join a team of mercenaries sent to investigate an ancient excavation lurking deep beneath the planet's toxic desert, dubbed the Sea of Sorrows.
Somewhere in that long-forgotten dig lies the thing the company wants most in the universe - a living Xenomorph. Decker doesn't understand why the company needs him until his genetic heritage comes back to haunt him. Centuries ago one of his ancestors fought the Aliens, launching a bloody vendetta that was never satisfied. That was when the creatures swore revenge on his forbear, 'the Destroyer', Ellen Ripley...and all her descendants.

It was an offer the Dartmouth Library just couldn’t refuse. Diana and Bruce Rauner donated their expansive collection of author Mario Puzo’s papers to Dartmouth. The collection includes draft manuscripts, correspondence, and other records from Puzo’s long career as a novelist and screenwriter—even the 1965 Olympia typewriter on which he likely wrote The Godfather.
“[It’s] an incredibly generous gift that opens up a lot of avenues for research for a lot of people,” Head of Special Collections Jay Satterfield says. “The lasting impact really is one of cultural understanding,” he tells Gangsters Inc. “Through what lens do we see the world of organized crime? And, how do we understand immigrant experiences? Looking at how and why Puzo’s world resonated with the culture at the time, and the lasting effects of that are great topics for research.” read more on
Cary Elwes, Jake Busey Join 'Stranger Things' Cast for Season 3
Actors Cary Elwes and Jake Busey will join the “Stranger Things” cast in the show’s third season, Netflix announced Wednesday.
Elwes, known for “The Princess Bride,” will play a character named Mayor Kline, while Busey, from “Starship Troopers,” will play Bruce.
Mayor Kline is being described by Netflix promotional materials as “handsome, slick, and sleazy.” “Your classic ’80s politician – more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.” The Bruce character played by Busey is “a journalist for the The Hawkins Post, with questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos made the new casting announcement at Netflix’s See What’s Next event in Rome, where the streaming giant announced a slew of new productions from Europe and elsewhere around the world.
The kids from Hawkins are not alone. Brenner's other subjects are starting to discover their true powers and must all come together to take down the dangerous Mind Flayer in the Upside Down.

The Royal baby has been named Prince Louis Arthur Charles Cambridge in a nod to Prince Charles' beloved great uncle Lord Mountbatten - here's what you need to know
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a son at 11.01am on Monday morning weighing 8lbs 7oz, inside the £5,900-a-stay The Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London.
After the Queen, other members of the Royal family and the Middleton family were told the good news, the royals' team emailed media organisations with the sex, weight and timing of the birth before tweeting the details.
As the Royal baby name wait goes on, observers will no doubt look into the history books in search for the couple's motivation.
When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pick a name for their newborn son, it is likely to be one that carries the weight of history with it; something meaningful; something with precedent.
So while Ethan, Logan and Jaxon were all popular last year, they are unlikely to be bestowed upon the younger brother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

NEW YORK, NY (April 18, 2018) — Today, three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated and BRIT Award-winning multiplatinum singer-songwriter James Bay unveils the official music video for his latest single “Us.” Watch it HERE.
The cinematic clip stands out as his most emotionally charged and touching video to date. Intercutting subjects of all races and genders facing depression and strife, the visual proves poetic, poignant and raw. In between these shots, the camera focuses on Bay singing alone, sharing the same struggle exemplified by his overpowering, but vulnerable delivery.
The beautiful video brings to life a feeling of unity and on the song Bay says: “Touring my music means I’ve been lucky enough to meet people all over the world and witness the phenomenal strength of crowds.
Gigs can be the greatest proof that positivity and strength comes from us all sticking together. I wrote this song to explore unity and inclusion. Looking through the lens of my own personal relationships, this song turned out to be a particularly important moment on the album for me."
“Us” has quietly become a fan favorite. It already eclipsed the 3-million-mark on Spotify and Bay performed the song earlier this month as an online exclusive on Late Night with Seth Meyers this month.
The artist’s anticipated sophomore full-length, Electric Light [Republic Records], lands in stores on Friday May 18, 2018. The pre-order is live now, granting instant downloads of “Us,” “Pink Lemonade,” and “Wild Love.” Full tracklist below as well as the album pre-order HereMP3 Converter!
