CVS STORES STOP ALL TOBACCO SALES!

 

CVS Caremark plans to stop selling tobacco products in all of its stores starting Wednesday — a move health experts hope will be followed by other major drugstore chains.

CVS announced in February that it planned to drop tobacco by Oct. 1 as the sales conflicted with its health care mission. To bolster its image as a health care company, CVS will announce a corporate name change to CVS Health. Retail stores will still be called CVS/Pharmacy.

CVS, which has 7,700 retail locations, is the second-largest drugstore chain in the USA, behind Walgreens. It manages the pharmacy benefits for 65 million members and has 900 walk-in medical clinics.

The American Pharmacists Association called on drugstores to stop selling tobacco in March 2010 and several small, independent chains have done so, APA spokeswoman Michelle Spinnler says. CVS is the first large chain to stop tobacco sales.

Downton Abbey returns to ITV Sunday 21st September at 9pm for a brand new series featuring a host of familiar faces as well as introducing guest stars Richard E Grant and Anna Chancellor. 

Dame Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Hugh Bonneville, Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern, Rob James-Collier, Brendan Coyle, Laura Carmichael, Allen Leech, Lily James, Sophie Mcshera and Tom Cullen will all return in series 5.

The hit ITV period drama will return to UK living rooms at 9pm for a 90-minute opener, but US fans will have to wait until early 2015.

A 60-second trailer has been released, hinting at a dramatic fire in the stately home that puts a blonde-haired character’s life at risk.

The household is shown struggling to adapt to changing times in 1924, with Mrs Hughes telling Carson: “Downton is catching up with the times we live in”.

“That is exactly what I am afraid of,” Carson replies.

Robert, Earl of Grantham is seen fearing that Lady Edith’s illegitimate daughter will be taken from them, but there are no pointers regarding what could happen to Anna and John Bates’ relationship after her traumatising rape last series.
