POWERFUL SUPERMOON & TOTAL ECLIPSE OF EQUINOX SUN ON MARCH 20!

http://www.space.com/28820-total-solar-eclipse-march-2015.html

This March 20th ushers in a new awakening powered not just by the Spring Equinox, but also by a total Solar Eclipse! And after an emotional first two weeks of March, you can finally relax and enjoy yourself, while letting bygones be bygones.

This week, the moon will completely cover the disk of the sun, creating a solar eclipse that only a small part of the world can see.

The March 20 total solar eclipse event will be the first since Nov. 3, 2013. The dark umbral shadow cone of the moon will trace a curved path primarily over the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, beginning off the southern tip of Greenland and then winding its way counterclockwise to the northeast, passing between Iceland and the United Kingdom.

The shadow will then pass over the Danish-owned Faroe Islands, the sparsely inhabited Norwegian island group of Svalbard and then it will hook counterclockwise toward the northwest, where it leaves the Earth’s surface just short of the North Pole.

If you don't have the chance to see the solar eclipse in person, you can catch it live online. The online Slooh Community Observatory will broadcast live views of the solar eclipse through its website Slooh.com, beginning at 4:30 a.m. EDT (0830 GMT).

You can also watch the total solar eclipse webcast on Space.com on March 20, courtesy of Slooh. The Virtual Telescope Project will also air live views of the eclipse through the project's website beginning at 4 a.m. EDT (0800 GMT), and it will also be carried on Space.com if possible.

BUFFY SAINTE-MARIE: POWER IN THE BLOOD

True North Records today announces details of the forthcoming 16th studio album by the iconic artist Buffy Sainte-Marie. The bold new album, Power in the Blood, her first album in more than 6 years, is set for release on May 12, 2015.

Power in the Blood is a sculpture of an artist ever-evolving and a statement of a life’s work realized - challenging, empowering, and celebrating the listener with each and every song. Featuring all but two original tracks, the album starts unpredictably with a re-imagined version of “It’s My Way,” a song that originally appeared on her acclaimed debut album. The new recording of “It’s My Way” demonstrates how her work can transcend generations and still inspire individualism and self-expression 50 years after it was written. Today, NPR Music premiered the track where writer Ann Powers stated "The song is a blessing, ever renewing itself — as relevant as the voice of the glorious elder who offers it."

Recorded in Toronto, Sainte-Marie enlisted three different producers, a first for her, to help shape Power in the Blood. Michael Phillip Wojewoda (Barenaked Ladies, Rheostatics), Jon Levine (Nelly Furtado, K’NAAN), and Chris Birkett (Sinéad O'Connor, Bob Geldof). Birkett has worked with Sainte-Marie on four albums, beginning with the 1992 release Coincidence and Likely Stories. He recognized from the start that Sainte-Marie was a singular force. “She pays a lot of attention to her lyrics,” Birkett says, “and when Buffy says something, she actually means something.”

Throughout her incredible half-century career each era has revealed new and distinctive shades of an artist revered for her pioneering and chameleon ways. There was no mold from which Buffy Sainte-Marie emerged; she created her own, ripened from experiences in both her head and her heart. Power in the Blood is a reminder that, five decades on, Sainte-Marie is a voice as vital and significant as ever. Like so much of Sainte-Marie’s work, it’s universal. “I love words, I love thinking, and I recognize and value the core of a universal idea simplified into a three-minute song,” says Sainte-Marie. “What appeals to me in folk music are the songs that have lasted for generations, but I wasn’t trying to be one of those guys. I want to give people something original.”

AVAILABLE MAY 12, 2015 ON SONY MUSIC MASTERWORKS

Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, iconic musician and actor JD Souther releases his new album Tenderness via Sony Music Masterworks. Produced by Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux, Melody Gardot, Herbie Hancock), the album will be available on May 12, 2015 and supported by select tour dates across the country and internationally.

“JD Souther is both a legendary and mysterious figure in American popular music,” says Chuck Mitchell, SVP of Sony Music Masterworks. “He’s a self-described ‘classicist’ who, in his new work, draws a through line between the first great songbook of Porter, Kern, etc., and his own generation’s massive impact on the art of the song. The result is an album that brings a new and fresh perspective to this amazing singer-songwriter’s contributions.”

“Now there are many ways to listen to music, and my intention is, as always, that each song tell its own story,” adds Souther. “However, Tenderness is designed as a set. I invite you to enjoy it this way."

“JD Souther proves once again why he’s an American treasure,” says Irving Azoff., the music industry icon whose company manages Souther.

Called “an American songwriting treasure” (Creative Loafing), with a “musical history that is improbably rich” (San Diego Union Tribune), Souther’s Tenderness continues the new path in sound and style that he has forged since his return to recording in 2008; but at the same time, the album is unlike anything he has previously recorded. Joining Souther on guitar and vocals are longtime collaborators pianist Chris Walters and saxophonist Jeff Coffin; as well as new friends, vocalist Lizz Wright and trumpet master Till Brönner. Jazz piano legend and recent Grammy Award winner Billy Childs is on board as well; he also has arranged the elegant and searing strings on half the album’s tracks.

On Tenderness, Souther balances his pop and jazz sensibilities paying particular homage to his earliest influences, the geniuses of the 20th Century Great American Songbook, while maintaining the signature qualities that have made him one of the true contemporary giants of American song.

Souther is best known penning countless hits for the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Roy Orbison, James Taylor, Don Henley, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn and others; while establishing a cult following as a performer with the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band and as a solo artist.

As an actor, he has appeared in the TV Shows Thirtysomething and Nashville, among others. A passionate animal lover and advocate, JD is also involved with Best Friends Animal Society.

THE WORLD: NEW BEGINNINGS

The World:
Embrace now as a joyful day. At the start, look in the mirror and see the joy that's already in your eyes. Work with contentment, spend quality time with friends and family, and share your love of life with every stranger you meet. You don't have to be overbearing and surprise people with your happiness. What you truly feel will shine on its own. The little things may bring you the most joy.

You have finally accomplished your goal or purpose. Everything has come together, and you are in the right place, doing the right thing, achieving what you have envisioned, and feeling fulfilled and complete. In this sense, the World card also heralds new beginnings that naturally emerge out of the completion cycle.
