The rock & roll singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist has already earned the endorsement of some of the genre’s legends, and the new music proves why. First single and title track “Ghost In My Head” struts through thick distortion with a shimmying blues riff and staggering vocal delivery.

Of the song, Pure Volume wrote, “(it) features heavy guitars, pulsating drums and a rhythm that’s easy to remember,” and added the EP is “a must hear for anyone who loves some good ol’ fashioned rock.”

Recently, iconic Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell personally invited WATT to open up for the band’s October 24 full-performance of their classic Ritual de lo Habitual in San Francisco at The Warfield. He hits the road with The Struts starting November 1. The entire itinerary is included below.

Born in New York and now based in Los Angeles, rock ‘n’ roll was part of ANDREW WATT’s destiny. He conjured up a striking and soulful sound after touring and writing with numerous artists across genres since the age of 16. 2013 saw him co-found California Breed with Glenn Hughes [Deep Purple] and Jason Bonham [Foreigner and Led Zeppelin], release the group’s incendiary full-length debut, and toured with Slash and many others.

WATT is also a producer, songwriter and musical director working with artists across multiple genres including Justin Bieber & Skrillex, Kygo, DJ Snake, Cody Simpson, SNBRN and more.

A devout California Breed fan, John Varvatos asked to hear Andrew’s solo music and offered him a deal in 2015. GHOST IN MY HEAD is produced by Alain Johannes [Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age,

Them Crooked Vultures] and features Chad Smith [Red Hot Chili Peppers] and Joey Castillo [ex-Queens of the Stone Age, Danzig] on the drum throne. It’s pure and unadulterated rock music.

UNITED SOUND CELEBRATION OCTOBER 23!

Detroit’s United Sound Systems is famous around the world for being the original recording studio in Detroit where the recordings of artists such as: John Lee Hooker, Jackie Wilson, Berry Gordy, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Parliament Funkadelic, MC5,The Dramatics and tons of others.

USS played an instrumental part in the birth of Motown as Berry Gordy recorded there before he formed Motown Records.. and the rise of Detroit Music on the gloval stage.

October 7, 2015 (Detroit, MI) – The recent historic designation of Detroit’s United Sound Systems Recording Studio – the nation’s oldest, still operating, independent recording studio – rings in a revitalized era for music production in the city.

In 2014, the Detroit Sound Conservancy (DSC), a Detroit-based nonprofit whose mission is to increase support of Detroit’s rich musical heritage through advocacy, preservation, and education, joined forces with United Sound Systems Recording Studio.

With DSC’s advocacy, the studio – which was established in the 1930s and whose storied recording history was officially designated a historic structure. This is important during a time of amplified redevelopment in the city, as it provides protection against major exterior changes to the property, and of course, demolition.

“United Sound Systems is one of Detroit’s hidden historic properties that has had a significant impact on Detroit’s music status,” says DSC’s Rebecca Binno Savage. “City of Detroit designation as a historic district brings United Sound Systems the recognition and protection it has earned.”

To commemorate the milestone and burgeoning partnership between the studio and the DSC, there will a fundraiser/celebration: 5-8 p.m. on Friday, October 23 at United Sound Systems (5840 Second St., Detroit, MI 48202; 313-833-1833). Monies raised at this event will help pay for a historical marker.

The evening will include food from Mimi’s Bistro, beer from Motor City Brewing Works, music curated by Pirahnahead, and a rare chance for a private tour of the building.

“I’m excited to finally see things moving forward. This historic designation is confirmation that the hard work and dedication that everyone has provided these past years did not go unnoticed. I just want to thank everyone that contributed to bringing this dream to fruition, especially the Detroit Sound Conservancy,” says United Sound Systems’ owner, Danielle Scott.

Sad news last night , I read the news from Nashville, that the dynamic and soulful singer, Billy Joe Royal, passed away yesterday at age 73, in his sleep, at his home in North Carolina. Billy Joe's gorgeous voice defined some of my very favorite songs of all time... Billy Joe's famous hits were "Hush," "Cherry Hill Park," "Down in the Boondocks, I Knew You When"...AND MY VERY FAVORITE......

Arrangements are still pending and I will update this story when they are finalized. RIP Billy Joe.....thank you..

Here is Billy Joe Royal's Biography

Royal was born into a family of musical entertainers in Valdosta, GA, and made his debut on his uncle's radio show at the age of 11. He learned to play steel guitar and joined the Georgia Jubilee in Atlanta at 14, performing with Joe South, Jerry Reed, and Ray Stevens, among several other artists.

Royal had his own rock & roll band in high school and was regularly singing around Atlanta by the age of 16. He also spent time in Savannah, where he was influenced by African-American vocal styles and began to develop his distinctive vocal sound. Performing at a nightclub that also booked Sam Cooke and other African-American stars,

Royal observed their vocal moves and began to practice them on his own time. In 1962, he recorded an independent single that went unnoticed. Royal and South roomed together for a time, and two or three years later South contacted him with a song he wanted Royal to sing as a demo, in the hope that Gene Pitney would record it.

Royal flew from Cincinnati (where he was working at the time) to Atlanta and cut "Down in the Boondocks," whose churchy echo resulted from the use during recording of a large septic tank that had been dragged into the studio. Read Full Bio on ALLMUSIC

REMAINS OF BUTCHERED MAMMOTH UNEARTHED NEAR MY HOME!

How exciting! A farm owner just a few miles down the road from me was digging in a field and discovered the remains of an ancient Mammoth!!

The woolly mammoth coexisted with early humans, who used its bones and tusks for making art, tools, and dwellings, and the species was also hunted for food.

It disappeared from its mainland range at the end of the Pleistocene 10,000 years ago, most likely through climate change and consequent shrinkage of its habitat, hunting by humans, or a combination of the two.

Isolated populations survived on St. Paul Island until 6,400 years ago and Wrangel Island until 4,000 years ago.

Butchered Mammoth Bones Unearthed in Michigan

ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN—About 20 percent of an adult male mammoth that lived between 11,700 and 15,000 years ago was excavated by a team from the University of Michigan from a farmer’s field in southern Michigan.

The skull, tusks, numerous vertebrae and ribs, and parts of the pelvis and shoulder blades were recovered, along with a small stone flake that may have been used for cutting, and three basketball-sized boulders that may have been used to anchor the carcass pieces in a pond.

Washtenaw County mammoth find hints at role of early humans

“We think that humans were here and may have butchered and stashed the meat so that they could come back later for it,” paleontologist Daniel Fisher explained in a press release.

In addition, the vertebrae were found arrayed in their correct anatomical sequence, and not scattered randomly as they would have been if the mammoth had died of natural causes.

As Fisher said, it was as if someone had “chopped a big chunk out of the body and placed it in the pond for storage.” The team will look for cut marks on the bones and date them. To read more about who would have hunted mammoth 11,700 years ago, go to "America, in the Beginning."

Born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California, to unmarried graduate students Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, a Syrian immigrant, Jobs was adopted as a baby by Paul Jobs, a Silicon Valley machinist, and his wife Clara. After graduating from high school in Cupertino, California, in 1972, Jobs attended Reed College, a liberal arts school in Portland, Oregon, for a single semester before dropping out.
