Years ago I volunteered on the very first Elvis Fest when it was held at Frog Island. That first show had tons of Elvis impersonators from all over and most in the Elvis jeweled style white jumpsuits. The white jumpsuit "Vegas" phase of Elvis' career was my least favorite. I loved Elvis in the Gold suit and his "Hillbilly Cat" phase.

We got to the festival last night at just the perfect time about 8pm. We caught the end of the Roy Orbison tribute which was very good but I only got to hear Pretty Woman and the song from the Traveling Wilburys "Anyway You Want it" then it was over. Next up was Irv Cass as Tom Jones then Dwight Icenhower as Elvis.
See this cool video of Rick Lenzi HERE Dwight, Rick, Irv and the gang are playing again today so grab the mini van and head to Riverside Park in Ypsilanti! You'll love it young and old alike! 12 noon to 12 midnight! Get cool Elvis memorabilia too. I got a cool gold Elvis lapel pin, Elvis magnet, Elvis watch and then ran out of money :(

It was Retro Rapture watching this show and the weather was so perfect. I went around and chatted with the audience and exhibitors. Bought my kids (Stanley :)) and Lesley some cool glow in the dark cheapie toys.'
