Sadly we lost another of our favorite TV stars this week. British Actor Richard Dawson (Peter Newkirk) passed away at age 79. I believe that leaves Helga, Hilda, Col Crittendon and Robert Clary (Lebeau) alive from the original cast. Newkirk and Lebeau were my favorites. Strange... but I began watching the entire series on DVD last Friday night. One of my close friends and I were talking about how great Hogan's Heroes was as a 30 minute drama/comedy situation comedy based in a WWII Prison Camp. The show stands the test of time and is not a bit dated. If anything...it is funnier to me now...

The inmates of a German World War II prisoner of war camp conduct an espionage and sabotage campaign right under the noses of their wardens.
