THE NEW REGIME TOUR WITH ANGELS & AIRWAVES STOP IN DETROIT

Credit: John David Moffat

THE NEW REGIME COMING SOON

The New Regime's upcoming show in Detroit on September 20th will be at The Fillmore. The one-man band features Ilan Rubin (previous drummer for Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Angels & Airwaves) The New Regime will be touring in support of their forthcoming EP Heart out on September 6th. Heart is part 1 of a 4 part EP series by The New Regime called Heart, Mind, Body, & Soul. Check out Heart HERE

(Los Angeles, CA) - Angels & Airwaves member (and Nine Inch Nails drummer) Ilan Rubin is serving double duty this fall. As frontman of the new rock act The New Regime, he'll be filling the direct support slot on Angels & Airwaves' North American fall tour. The multi-instrumentalist--also known for a successful stint with Paramore, as well as work with Beck, M83 and more--will be releasing new music to coincide with the trek.

The tour runs from September 4th in Tempe, AZ and wraps on October 9th in Los Angeles, hitting major markets along the way such as New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, DETROIT and more. Dates are already selling out, so make sure you purchase remaining tickets on The New Regime's website, HERE.

"I'm looking forward to the upcoming Angels & Airwaves/The New Regime tour for many reasons. I'll be playing new material from The New Regime's first release on RED MUSIC and Angels will be performing for the first time in 7 years with new material as well. Doing double duty every night playing in both bands will keep everything intense and exciting," states Rubin about the upcoming tour.

The New Regime is also excited to announce that fans can expect new music coming soon. Stay up-to-date on the band by following them on socials.

Follow The New Regime:

Rubin, whose young age defies the amount of work he's already tackled, was recently called "Nine Inch Nails' secret weapon" (Metal Injection) and "one of rock's most in-demand drummers" (Louder). He got an early start, playing in bands and touring globally since the age of 9. Today, however, it can be argued that the multi-instrumentalist's best work happens when this one-man-band is fronting-and backing The New Regime.

The band's previous releases have been featured by massive press outlets such as Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, NME, Alternative Press, and Modern Drummer and have seen them share the stage with Muse, The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, The Used, Juliette Lewis, Alice In Chains, and more. With new music slotted to come out soon, Rubin is looking forward to continuing to reinvent the wheel and becoming a master of his own regime.

Since the band's return to live performance in 2014, with critically acclaimed sell-out shows all over the world including two defining shows at the Roman amphitheater in Pompeii, the audience has been reinvented, as much as the band itself:

“In Pompeii, a large percentage of the audience was young couples; KC moved into the mainstream in Italy. I walked onstage knowing that this band's position in the world has changed level.” Robert Fripp

The band's packed three-hour shows regularly include material from twelve of their thirteen studio albums, including many of the songs from their seminal 1969 album In The Court of the Crimson King, described by Pete Townshend, as an “uncanny masterpiece”.

The new 8-piece line-up plays many historic pieces which Crimson have never played live, as well as new arrangements of Crimson classics – “the music is new whenever it was written”.

There are also new instrumentals and songs, as well as the compositions by the three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, which are a regular highlight. A unique show, where eight of the best musicians in the world play music without distraction or adornment.

Physical music releases include:

February: King Crimson 1972 – 74 – (ABOVE) the second boxed set of 6LPs from Larks' Tongues in Aspic to the expanded USA in 200-gram vinyl.

May: Heaven and Earth: Multi-disc CD/ DVD-a/Blu-Ray set covering the period from the late 1990s – 2008 – completing the availability of all King Crimson studio albums in 5.1 multi-channel audio.

2019 will see the release of CLUB48, CLUB49 and CLUB50 - the final three in the Collectors Club series, taking it 50 releases in the band's 50th year. ROBERT FRIPP, though best known for his work in King Crimson, has contributed to numerous albums by players as diverse as Brian Eno, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Blondie, Talking Heads, Daryl Hall, The Roches, Peter Hammill, Keith Tippett, David Sylvian, The Orb, and The Grid. His 1979 solo album, Exposure was described as “the Sergeant Pepper of avant punk.” He has appeared twice in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Guitarist Of All Time poll, although Fripp claims these are likely to have been mistakes by the typesetter.

TONY LEVIN has been a member of King Crimson since 1981. Internationally renowned and constantly in-demand for his distinctive bass work, he also tours with Peter Gabriel with whom he has worked since 1977. He has appeared on albums by Paul Simon, John Lennon, David Bowie and countless others and recently formed his own band, Stick Men alongside Crimson drummer, Pat Mastelotto.

JAKKO JAKSZYK was a member of Level 42, before working with Mel Collins as part of the ex-KC alumni group, 21st Century Schizoid Band between 2002 - 2004. His solo album, The Bruised Romantic Glee Club (2006) was his first recorded collaboration with Fripp, followed by A Scarcity of Miracles in 2011. An acclaimed producer in his own right, Jakszyk has recently mixed Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson's UK Top 20 album, Homo Erraticus.
.
MEL COLLINS was previously a member of King Crimson 1970 - 1972 appearing on In The Wake Of Poseidon (1970), Lizard (1970), Islands (1971), Earthbound (1972) as well as a guest appearance on Red (1974), the final King Crimson album of the 1970s. He subsequently worked with The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton and many others, before returning to King Crimson in 2014.

GAVIN HARRISON joined King Crimson in 2007, playing a series of dates in the USA the following year. A respected author and tutor, he has also recorded three albums with The Pineapple Thief, though Harrison is probably best-known for his work with Porcupine Tree. Modern Drummer magazine placed him in their Top 50 Drummers Of All Time.

PAT MASTELOTTO joined King Crimson in 1994 after working with Robert Fripp and David Sylvian. A member of the hugely successful American 1980s group and MTV favourites, Mr. Mister, he is at home in both experimental music working with KTU as well as pop and rock appearing on albums by The Rembrandts, Hall And Oates and XTC.

JEREMY STACEY is a British drummer. His early work included the 1990s band, The Lemon Trees (with twin brother Paul Stacey on guitars, Guy Chambers and others) and Denzil. He has also played with Sheryl Crow, the Finn Brothers, Nick Harper, Noel Gallagher, and many more. On March 7, 2016, it was announced that he would be taking the place of Bill Rieflin as the centre drummer on the 2016 King Crimson European tour, a position he retained even after Rieflin's return to the band.

BILL RIEFLIN is a multi-instrumentalist but is primarily known for his drumming with Ministry and industrial rock outfit KMFDM. From 2003 until their dissolution in 2011 he played drums with REM. He recorded with Robert Fripp on Birth Of A Giant and The Repercussions Of Angelic Behaviour (both 1999) and most recently in the ambient super-group, Slow Music in 2006 and 2014.

TODD RUNDGREN

A Wizard, A True Star. The title of Todd Rundgren's 1973 solo album aptly sums up the contributions of this multi-faceted artist to state-of-the-art music. As a songwriter, video pioneer, producer, recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist, and interactive artist (re-designated TR-i), Rundgren has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rundgren began playing guitar as a teenager, going on to found and front The Nazz, the quintessential `60's psychedelic group. In 1969, he left the band to pursue a solo career, recording his debut offering, the legendary Runt. But it was 1972's seminal Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and acted as his own producer, that catapulted Todd into the superstar limelight, prompting the press to unanimously dub him 'Rock's New Wunderkind'. It was followed by such landmark LPs as The Hermit of Mink Hollow and the above mentioned A Wizard, A True Star, as well as such hit singles as “I Saw The Light,” “Hello It's Me,” “Can We Still Be Friends,” and “Bang The Drum.”

In 1974, Todd formed Todd Rundgren’s Utopia (renamed and reconfigured in 1976 as Utopia), an entirely new approach to the concept of interactive musicianship, and embarked on an extensive round of touring and recording. Standout Utopia offerings included Oops! Wrong Planet, Adventures in Utopia, and Oblivion. Along the way, Todd Rundgren’s Utopia combined technical virtuosity and creative passion to create music that initially, for millions, defined the term "progressive rock”, and subsequently, as Utopia, the term “powerpop.”

Rundgren's myriad production projects include albums by Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, Psychedelic Furs, Meat Loaf, XTC, Grand Funk Railroad, and Hall And Oates. Rounding out his reputation as rock's Renaissance Man, Rundgren composed all the music and lyrics for Joe Papp's 1989 Off-Broadway production of Joe Orton's Up Against It (the screenplay commissioned by The Beatles for what was meant to have been their third motion picture). He also has composed the music for the hit film Dumb and Dumber, as well as series, including Pee Wee’s Playhouse and Crime Story.

In 2012 Rundgren performed his iconic 1973 album A Wizard A True Star in concert in its entirety for the first time ever, and several years later did the same with a double bill: Todd & Healing. He has toured with Ringo Starr as an erstwhile member of the All-Starr Band since 1989, and continues to perform with symphony orchestras both domestically and internationally. His latest studio album, White Knight, was released last May, and this past spring he toured North America with original Utopians Kasim Sulton and Willie Wilcox for the first time in 33 years. His long-awaited autobiography The Individualist, will be in stores December 21. He embarks on the world’s first hybrid concert/book tour this coming April/May, highlighting music across his 50-year career.

Last year on successive weekends he was awarded honorary doctorates from both the Berklee School of Music and DePauw University.

In 1998 Todd debuted his new PatroNet technology which for the first time allowed fans of a musical artist to subscribe directly to the artist’s musical output via the Internet. This caps a long history of groundbreaking early multimedia "firsts", including:

• 1978: The first interactive television concert, broadcast live over the Warner/QUBE system in Columbus, Ohio (the home audience chose each song in real time during the concert by voting via QUBE’s 2-way operating system).

• 1978: The first live nationally broadcast stereo radio rock concert (by microwave), linking 40 cities around the country.

• 1979: The opening of Utopia Video Studios, a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art facility. The first project produced by Todd there is Gustav Holst’s The Planets, commissioned by RCA Selecta Vision as the first demonstration software for their new videodisc format.

• 1980: Creation of the first color graphics tablet, which wa
s licensed to Apple and commercially released as The Utopia Graphics Tablet.
\
• 1981: “Time Heals,” the first music video to utilize state-of-the-art compositing of live action and computer graphics (produced and directed by Todd), becomes the eighth video to be played during the launch of MTV on August 1, 1981.

• 1982: The first live national cablecast of a rock concert (on the USA Network), simulcast in stereo to over 120 radio stations.

• 1982: The first two commercially released music videos, one of which was nominated for the first-ever Grammy awarded for “Best Short Form Video” in 1983.

• 1992: The first commercially available music downloads via CompuServe.

• 1993: The release of No World Order, the world’s first interactive record album on CD-i.
• 1994: The release of The Individualist, the world’s first full-length Enhanced CD.

• 1994: The world’s first interactive concert tour.

• 1998: Launches PatroNet, the world’s first direct artist subscription service -- predicts that someday "music will be sold by the pound".

• 2016: The production of the world's first full length concert shot with multiple Virtual Reality 360º cameras.

JAMES BAY REVEALS EMOTIONAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE

NEW YORK, NY (April 18, 2018) — Today, three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated and BRIT Award-winning multiplatinum singer-songwriter James Bay unveils the official music video for his latest single “Us.” Watch it HERE.

The cinematic clip stands out as his most emotionally charged and touching video to date. Intercutting subjects of all races and genders facing depression and strife, the visual proves poetic, poignant and raw. In between these shots, the camera focuses on Bay singing alone, sharing the same struggle exemplified by his overpowering, but vulnerable delivery.

The beautiful video brings to life a feeling of unity and on the song Bay says: “Touring my music means I’ve been lucky enough to meet people all over the world and witness the phenomenal strength of crowds.

Gigs can be the greatest proof that positivity and strength comes from us all sticking together. I wrote this song to explore unity and inclusion. Looking through the lens of my own personal relationships, this song turned out to be a particularly important moment on the album for me."

“Us” has quietly become a fan favorite. It already eclipsed the 3-million-mark on Spotify and Bay performed the song earlier this month as an online exclusive on Late Night with Seth Meyers this month.

The artist’s anticipated sophomore full-length, Electric Light [Republic Records], lands in stores on Friday May 18, 2018. The pre-order is live now, granting instant downloads of “Us,” “Pink Lemonade,” and “Wild Love.” Full tracklist below as well as the album pre-order Here  MP3 Converter!

Captivating venues everywhere, he revs up the sold out “Electric Light” Tour this May following the record release. See full dates below and at www.jamesbay.com.

Composed in East London’s Baltic Studios, Bay co-wrote and co-produced Electric Light with longtime friend and collaborator Jon Green and brought onboard Paul Epworth [Adele, Florence and The Machine] to add final production elements to the record. “Wild Love” has already reached 15 million Spotify streams and its official music video co-stars Natalia Dyer of Stranger Things.

With three drummers up front including Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, as well as the return of multi-instrumentalist Bill Reiflin on keyboards, guitarist, and original founding member, Robert Fripp, states that this “double quartet formation” is likely to make more noise than ever before. Rounding out the eight piece line up are guitarist and vocalist Jakko Jakszyk, long-time bassist Tony Levin, and saxophonist Mel Collins, who was a mainstay of Crim from 1970-1972.

As well as standard tickets, the band's label, DGM, also has announced sale of VIP Royal Packages, limited to just 60 per show. Details can be viewed at the label's interactive and recently redeveloped website, www.dgmlive.com.

Here's what the press have raved about King Crimson's summer 2017 North American tour:

“On our final evening at the festival, we were witness to the concert that inevitably proved to be its highlight...The blend of mood, melody, ambiance and atmosphere dazzled the audience, which responded with frequent standing ovations.” - Lee Zimmerman, Goldmine Magazine

“Complex musical structures, the power, the intensity and the flight of guitars, flutes and especially drums, the progressive rock of King Crimson unfolded like never...With a dense and complex performance that perfectly coincided with the title of the tour entitled Radical Action, King Crimson took over all the years of his long career, offered new material and transported the music lovers to their rich universe and especially without compromise.” - YVES LECLERC, Journal de Quebec

“Fripp and his band offered an impeccable performance in two stages. No melodies, no flapping, only musicians at the top of their art.” - IAN BUSSIÈRES La Presse, Quebec

“The band finally reaps all that it has sown in its many transformations...the company of the good old days got its money's worth! In short, the king is not dead, far from it, and they still rejoice.” - Réjean Beaucage, Voir.ca

There was an undeniable nostalgic thrill to these songs, but considering the unconventional setup and the band's longstanding aversion to living in the past, they weren't presented as museum pieces...this remained a celebration from a band that has found a way to honour the scope of its legacy without abandoning its avant-garde principles. Crimson has never sounded more complete, or more joyous, on stage than it does now.” - Jordan Zivitz, Montreal Gazette

“The eclectic setlist covered the bands forty plus years, beginning with 1973's 'Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part One' earmarked by one of several Mel Collins' exemplary solos, then jumped a decade later for the fluid 'Neurotica' with Fripp’s hyper-kinetic guitar riffs perched alongside a dizzying high tempo jazz beat. The uniqueness of seeing each of these seasoned musicians working is near indescribable and has to be experienced live, to fully embrace their vision - think of eight master painters working in their own style, but on a common canvas, and you begin to get the idea of things.” - We Heart Music, Minneapolis

“As part of their 17-show 'Radical Action Tour 2017,' King Crimson made a stop at the Greek Theatre for what can only be succinctly described as nearly three hours of absolute musical bliss — subtle and pastoral on one hand, a cacophony of sonic thrusts on the other.” - Shawn Perry Vintage Rock

“While their strong EP of new originals 'Heroes,' (in tribute to David Bowie) has devoted fans pleased and open-eared, it's the rarities from the back catalog that haven’t been played in decades or ever that make this tour's lineup exceptionally strong. Astounding as it was, King Crimson still has the propensity to tackle songs from all over their vast catalog, while incessantly adding new intersections and elements.” - Dylan Muhlberg, Grateful Web

In other news:

The band has recently released “The Elements Of King Crimson 2017 Tour Box.” As with previous releases in the “Elements” series, the full variety of King Crimson's music is presented over 2 CDs! Featuring extracts from rehearsals, new live recordings, elements from studio recordings, full tracks, alternate takes and finished recordings from 1969-2016, many of which make their first appearance on CD.

Every line-up is featured across the double CD set. Of particular interest on the new set is the inclusion on disc 2 of every part of “Larks' Tongues in Aspic” (some studio, some live) from “Part I” to “Level 5” – interspersed with elements taken from the original studio sessions and rehearsals.
Packaged in a DVD-sized fold out digipak style book case with a 24 page booklet including sleeve notes by co-compiler Sid Smith, photos of memorabilia, full info about the 2016 tour and a number of band and individual photos of the current band line-up CLICK HERE

Also, coinciding with the first leg of the tour, King Crimson released a CD EP titled “Heroes - Live In Europe, 2016.” Recorded in Berlin during the band's 2016 European tour., the EP was released on June 2nd 2017 and, along with “The Elements Of King Crimson 2017 Tour Box,” can be ordered via the shops at www.dgmlive.com as well as available through traditional retail outlets. BISHOP BRIGGS ANNOUNCES HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR!

Born in London to Scottish parents, raised in Japan and Hong Kong, and writing her own songs since age seven, Bishop Briggs was already immersed in American pop-culture by the time she moved to Los Angeles to attend college.

She persevered in L.A., focused on a clear mission, and was never too proud to play any venue that would have her, often to crowds smaller than would gather in her childhood living room. She honed her artistic vision with the help of producers Mark Jackson and Ian Brendon Scott.

Bishop Briggs’ music now transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending folk, pop and electronic music into a wholly unique sound. Her voice, lived-in and unafraid, has been likened to artists as varied as Janis Joplin, Florence Welch, Aretha Franklin, and Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), but Bishop foregoes restraint and defies categorization, forging a path that is uniquely hers.

With more new material, recent live performances/opening slots for Coldplay, Passion Pit and Kaleo, and a headlining tour, Bishop Briggs is poised to be one of 2017’s biggest breakout artists.

Whether it is the rapture of “River” or defiance of “Wild Horses,” Bishop Briggs’ songs are all inspired by what she calls “the biggest, most toxic and tragic love affair I’ve ever had”: her lifelong commitment to music.

ENGLISH BEAT JOINS RETRO FUTURA CONCERT TOUR

As UK's legendary ska/punk/pop/soul band ENGLISH BEAT readies Here We Go Love (its first album of new material in over three decades for release this year), Dave Wakeling and band are currently on the road, touring the US. They have also announced that they will be joining Howard Jones, Men Without Hats, Paul Young, Modern English, and Katrina of Katrina and the Waves (with Annabella of Bow Wow Wow filling in for Paul Young on a handful of dates) for the RETRO FUTURA TOUR. (tour dates below)

Appropriately called "a singer-songwriter as savagely witty as Elvis Costello" by Rolling Stone, Wakeling has been at the forefront of Ska's Second Wave which propelled peers like The Specials, Madness and The Selector throughout the 80s into the 90s and continues today. "The Beat are one of the most underrated bands of all time," wrote respected writing legend Simon Price for The Quietus, "and Dave Wakeling ought to be spoken of in the same breath as Weller and Strummer in the post-punk pantheon of heroes."

The English Beat's irresistible blend of Pop, Soul, Ska and Punk made them one of the most undeniable breakout stars throughout the last three decades and have had their music covered by such musical luminaries as Elvis Costello, Pete Townshend, and Eddie Vedder, among many others.

Compared to other UK Ska acts who found fame in the 80s, Paste Magazine called them "the most ambitious" and The Wall Street Journal said "the English Beat had the best chops." Originally breaking up in the late 80s, Wakeling formed General Public who continued their mainstream takeover with massive international singles like "Tenderness", "Never You Done That", "Hot You're Cool" and a cover of Staple Singers' "I'll Take You There." Proving Wakeling's undeniable songwriting as well has his longevity in the industry, national retail chain Target featured "Tenderness" in a TV commercial campaign and Hanna Barbera's wildly popular cartoon Scooby Doo featured the band's music in a recent episode.
