Should it get a matching offer, the profit will be divided among Aretha Franklin’s four sons, an agreeable outcome considering that at the time of her death she didn't have a will to settle her $80 million estate.

The home—which has now been cleared of the artist's belongings—is situated in the exclusive Hills of Lone Pine area, with access to a community swimming pool and community tennis courts.

The marble-decorated entrance flows into a double-floor great room with hardwood floors, extensive floor-to-ceiling windows, and a fireplace.

The master suite is also awash in marble accents and includes a large walk-in closet, as do most of the bedroom suites in this grand abode.

While the home is part of the $2 million in property Franklin owned in and around the Detroit area, the singer was living at Riverfront Towers in downtown Detroit at the time of her passing.

The Hamptons mansion that gave its name to the landmark 1970s documentary Grey Gardens is up for sale. When the film was made, the house was the home to the aging debutante Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, and her eccentric mother "Big Edie". They were heiresses and relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who had withdrawn from society to live in exquisite squalor.

Sally Quinn and her late husband former Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee bought Grey Gardens in 1979 for $220,000. At the time it was in such bad shape that most of the prospective buyers saw it as a tear-down, but they were determined to restore it instead.

In a 2003 article for Town and Country, Sally Quinn said that when they bought the house, “The attic was filled, literally, to the rafters with broken furniture, old wicker chaises, antique tables, boxes of china and silver, trunks full of letters, baby pillows of handmade lace, figurines, crates of books — it was like finding a shipwreck and discovering unimaginable treasure buried among the detritus.”

THE WINDSOR STAR: A Prohibition-era bootlegger’s mansion that heritage buffs feared would be demolished has regained its Roaring Twenties dazzle thanks to the owner of Better Made  kitchen cabinet company, Vern Myslichuk

The Low-Martin home was built in 1928 by rum-runner Harry Low and was later owned by federal cabinet minister Paul Martin Sr. It sat empty and deteriorating for many years but owner Vern Myclichuk has spent the past two years renovating the structure.

The home has hosted a wide range of visitors over the years, including Pierre Trudeau and Chicago mob boss Al Capone.

THE GODFATHER MANSION FOR SALE AFTER RETRO RENNOVATION

The Staten Island estate where “The Godfather” was filmed is back on the market for $2.89 million.
The home’s exterior was used in the movie to shoot such memorable scenes as the wedding of Connie, played by Talia Shire. The backyard — where a pool now exists — is where Don Corleone, played by Marlon Brando, died.
 

Now the owner has renovated the massive eight bedroom, three bathroom home so that parts of it — like Don Corleone’s office — look like what it looked like in the movie.

The 6,248 square foot English Tudor style mansion is on more than half an acre at 110 Longfellow Ave. in the posh Todt Hill section of Staten Island.

It was originally built in 1930 for Joseph Palma, who was married — with 11 children–and became Staten Island’s borough president in 1933. The next owner kept the mansion in his family for six decades. That was Edward Norton III, who was in high school when Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and Robert Duvall were filming the movie. Producers discovered the house thanks to actor Gianni Russo, who grew up near there.
