Skip's family would like to let all of his friends around the globe know that there was a very intimate and private memorial this past week for Skip . There were about sixty close friends and family members in attendance .

The family appreciates your kindness and love that you have shown for Skip .This has been very overwhelming time for them, especially Skip's Mother who is in very fragile health.

The Service was beautiful . Father Tony from St Henry's Church in Lincoln Park gave the eulogy. There were many other friends and family that spoke about Skip. There were many tears but there was much more laughter. Skip's friends had so many funny stories to share.

There was a lovely gospel singer that gave a heartwarming rendition of "Amazing Grace". There were so many more stories that were told at the luncheon. More laughter than tears , just like Skip would have wanted...

PROMOTERS NOT TO BLAME FOR MICHAEL JACKSON'S DEATH

I have been watching this trial and am totally thrilled that the concert promoters were no liable for Michael Jackson's death.  To me this was just another money grab by the Jackson family. How can any one person/company be to blame for Michael's obvious downfall? Why not sue Joe Jackson for crippling his son with abuse at an early age?  Why not sue Katharine Jackson  If Mrs. Jackson had divorced Joe and removed her children from this father, Michael might still be alive.

The doctor knew not to use that anesthesia outside of an operating room and yet he did so at Michael's request.  So who is to blame?  Michael Jackson is to blame.  If they want to claim he was not of sound mind at the time of his demise, then the blame goes to the doctor for allowing MJ to have those drugs and his parents for the ruination of their son....just sayin...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A Los Angeles jury cleared concert promoter AEG Live of liability on Wednesday in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the family of Michael Jackson, in a trial that offered a glimpse into the private life and final days of the so-called King of Pop.

The verdict, which concluded that the doctor the company hired to care for the singer was not unfit for his job, capped a sensational five-month trial that was expected to shake up the way entertainment companies treat their most risky talent.

Detroit Unplugged features Music Award winners Carolyn Striho (Carolyn Striho Group, Patti Smith Group), Chris McCall (Vinyl Underground/Jugglers & Thieves Audra Kubat (Torch with a Twist, Theater Bizzare, The Hounds Below, Night of the Living Dead-The musical) and Mary McGuire (Blood Sisters, Calamity Jane, Cosmic Dali and Ash Can Van Gogh) will perform acoustic sets at the Mackinac Art Gallery reception of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist and creator of the festival Art Print, Mark Arminski. Arminski is known worldwide and he will be on hand to meet and greet and will be autographing festival posters. All proceeds benefit the Music Festival.

Tickets are $35 per person, each person will receive and a limited edition Mackinac Island Music Festival Art Print signed and numbered by Mark Arminski. Tickets are available online and at the door, refreshments included.

CBGB'S INTERIOR TO BE RECONSTRUCTED FOR FILM FESTIVAL

On October 10, 2013; the original CBGB walls, the original sound system and more from the historic venue will be reunited with two longtime friends of CBGB; Van Toffler (MTV God) and Duff McKagan (Rock God) at the Landmark Sunshine Theater on Houston St. in lower Manhattan for the CBGB Music & Film Festival 2013’s Keynote Addresses. CBGB owner Hilly Kristal and club talent booker Louise Staley carefully dismantled the interior of the famed CBGB & OMFUG in 2006 after being evicted by their landlord. The original CBGB stage walls and the original CBGB sound system haven’t been seen in public since then. “Hilly wanted them to live on. He saved them for exactly this type of occasion,” said Staley.

Despite several attempts to save the New York landmark, Patti Smith played the final concert ever at CBGB’s on October 15, 2006. Its doors closed forever, and several of its contents, such as a wooden phone booth and the outdoor awning, soon found a home in New York’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex. Hilly Kristal salvaged whatever he could from the club and moved it to Las Vegas, but a battle with cancer forced his passing less than a year later, on August 27, 2007.
