It has been 100 years since Charlie Chaplin debuted his unforgettable iconic "Little Tramp"
The Tramp debuted to the public in the Keystone comedy Kid Auto Races at Venice (released on February 7, 1914; Mabel's Strange Predicament, shot earlier, was released on February 9, 1914
The Kid
My favorite of the Charlie Chaplin films is "The Kid". You can see the entire film on You Tube
The physical attributes of the Tramp include a pair of baggy pants, a tight coat, a small bowler hat, a large pair of shoes, a cane and the famous small mustache. The Tramp walks strangely and uncomfortably because of the ill-fitting clothing; either he is wearing secondhand clothes, or they are originally his but he cannot afford new ones. The Tramp may have seen better days, but he maintains the attitude and demeanor of a high-class individual; as long as he acts like one he can believe that he is one, and is able to keep his hope that some day he actually will be again.
The Tramp was usually the victim of circumstance and coincidence, but sometimes the results worked in his favor. In Modern Times he picks up a red flag that falls off a truck and starts to wave it at the truck in an attempt to return it, and by doing so, unknowingly and inadvertently becomes the leader of a group of protesting workers, and ends up in jail because of it. The Seven of Pentacles card suggests that my power today lies in timing. I have earned the payoff or rest or am aware that I can be more productive by taking a time-out. I don't interfere with the natural progression and development of things that out of my hands at the moment, but I know it is about time for a change. 'Give me a minute and it'll come to me.' I am empowered by preparation and my asset is using time wisely.
The Seven of Pentacles portrays a young man taking a rest from the difficult work of harvesting his abundant crop. He has been laboring long and hard in his garden. The foliage is full and the blossoms are out. It seems that his work has paid off. He gazes meditatively at the pentacles hanging from the rich greenery of the thicket in which he works and seems to be contemplating the value of his efforts. He is finally taking a break to admire his handiwork and the benefits of his labor.
What is the Prince so angry about? What could possibly be left untold?? But it might be fun to read about the other disgruntled royals and their exes....Fergie was always more fun than Di anyway...
The Queen's former press secretary Dickie Arbiter is promoting his memoirs, which are believed to contain explosive insights into the inner workings of the royal family. His book, On Duty with the Queen, is said to claim that Diana felt "humiliated" by Charles' affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.
It is also reported to describe the reaction of Prince Charles and the Queen to Diana's sudden death in a car accident in 1997.A palace source told the Daily Mirror: "Charles is furious. This man was a trusted friend."
The book, which Arbiter has pitched as "a candid look behind the scenes of the most sensational and salacious royal stories", is also thought to cover the divorces of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and Prince Anne and Mark Philips. Read Full Story Here

Had a lovely chat this afternoon with Edsel Ford author Henry Dominguez. Henry worked in the auto industry here in Michigan and now resides in Utah! We had a great time swapping our favorite Ford Family stories....We could be on the phone for days! But...I think it is a better idea to get Henry to write down some of his favorite topics to share with my readers!
Here's one of author Henry Dominguez's favorite photos of Edsel Ford. It was taken in 1920 in Virginia. He is with Dodge heir, Isabella Dodge. They're young, beautiful, and rich!
Stay tuned, Henry will be contributing some cool stories soon...In the meantime, I thought I'd share 2 of his books that are for sale in my Amazon Store....
To students of business, the word Edsel conjures up only one thing: disaster. It was the name given to an automobile in the late 1950s that failed miserably in the marketplace and lost Ford Motor Company hundreds of millions of dollars. However in all of the books written about the Ford Motor Company and the Ford family, precious little has been written about the man who gave his name to this car.
Edsel Ford was, after all, the son of Henry Ford and, more importantly, the president of the Ford Motor Company for a quarter of a century. Who was this man? What was he like? And why has he been ignored?
'Edsel Ford has been the only president of an automobile company to take such an in-depth interest in design. Although I did the design work - taking pencil in hand and sketching cars - Edsel Ford's innate design ability steered me towards those wonderful old Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln designs. We made a good team.' E.T. Gregorie.
The relationship that developed between Edsel Ford and E.T. 'Bob' Gregorie (Ford Motor Company's first design chief) was unique in automotive history. It was akin to the relationship between a patron and an artist. Gregorie leaned heavily on Edsel for his support and protection, and Edsel depended on Gregorie for his creative abilities.
Automotive historians have listed the 1936 Zephyr, 1938 Zephyr, and 1939 Continental as Gregorie's greatest achievements. Frank Lloyd Wright called the Continental 'the most beautiful car in the world' while the Museum of Modern Art called the '36 Zephyr 'the most successfully streamlined car in America.' 'Edsel Ford and E.T. Gregorie' is the first book to provide in-depth analysis of how the early Fords, Mercurys and Lincolns were designed. Based on first-hand discussions with Gregorie, author Henry Dominguez covers every major design of Gregorie's career.
The book details the how's and why's of every Ford product designed under his tutelage. In addition to conveying Gregorie's design brilliance, the book also provides a revealing account of the personality and abilities of the often-misunderstood Edsel Ford. 'All that I have ever read about Edsel pretty much ignores his contributions,' Gregorie tells Dominguez. 'If it weren't for Edsel Ford, I hate to think what would have happened to the Ford Motor Company.' '
When Edsel Ford made me design chief, he didn't abdicate his interest in design,' Gregorie recalls. 'He merely assumed the added responsibility of design director along with his burdensome responsibility as president.' This book tells the story of the partnership which, in the words of current Ford Chairman William Clay Ford, Jr (Edsel's grandson), 'created some of the most innovative and beautiful designs in automotive history
Skipper Roberts was a doll created by Mattel in 1964 to be Barbie's younger sister, as well as to oppose controversies directed at Barbie. Since Skipper was introduced, she has changed immensely. When she first came out, she was 9.25 inches in height (compared to Barbie's 11.5 inches), and then as newer versions were released she gradually became taller with an older appearance, eventually turning out to be almost as tall as Barbie. At first, Skipper was available with three different hair colors, but is currently only available with her hair colored black and purple. Usually, Skipper dolls had blue eyes.
Skipper was created, along with Midge, to counteract criticism that claimed Barbie was a sex symbol. Midge's facial appearance was gentler than Barbie's, whereas Skipper was a response to requests that wanted Barbie to have children; however, instead of having a married, pregnant Barbie, which would make her too domestic, Barbie would babysit Skipper.[1] As Barbie's little sister, Skipper was Barbie's first family member sold. Since their introduction in 1964, Skipper dolls have changed drastically READ MORE HERE
