JEMEKER THOMPSON THE INSPIRATIONAL FORMER QUEEN PIN OF LA

Jemeker Thompson, beautiful, brilliant and a very talented entrepreneur is also known as the "Queen Pin," rose to the top of the cocaine trade during the peak of the 1980s crack epidemic in Los Angeles, California.

Evicted from her home in South Central Los Angeles at a young age, Thompson, became very determined to make money and to be in control of her own life. While still in school, she partnered with an older man by the name of Anthony M. "Daff" Mosley. Together, they ran a successful cocaine-trafficking business in L.A. The two would later marry and have one child together, a son they named Anthony.

After several months in the drug game, Thompson and Daff decided to expand their business by moving to a more in-demand drug, crack-cocaine. Shortly thereafter, tragedy struck: Daff was killed while washing his car. Eventually, a devastated Thompson trudged on, continuing to expand the business she'd started with her late husband by making additional connections and moving into new territories throughout the United States.

Around this same time, Thompson also invested in her L.A.-based hair business, selling hair to celebrities, and traveling and holding shows to market her products.

Also during this time, Thompson had begun dating a man known as "Cheese" who would later flip and begin cooperating with authorities.

Thompson subsequently fled L.A. and went into hiding.

On the run for two years, in 1993, Thompson—or the "Queen Pin," as she was known by both the police and media—finally decided to return to L.A. to attend her son's 6th-grade graduation ceremony, where law-enforcement officials, suspecting her attendance, were promptly waiting.

She was subsequently arrested, tried on and convicted of charges related to drug-trafficking, and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Thompson was released from prison in 2005, after serving 13 years in a maximum-security prison alongside scary women like Griselda Blanco and Squeaky Fromme.

She was never caught on a wiretap, never caught making a drug deal, never caught with drugs... yet they gave her the maximum sentence on the testimony of her ex.  If circumstances had been different, this woman might have been CEO of any number of companies. I believe she is inspirational in many ways.

Jermeker now Jemeker Hairston now serves as an evangelical minister at Second Chance Ministries in South Central, Los Angeles, which she also owns. According to Thompson, her ministerial mission is to show others that, through God, they'll always have a second chance in life. "I'm here today to tell somebody else that you don't have to do what I did," she said. "You don’t have to be like the other kids in the neighborhood. I had a second chance." She is so smart..not your average criminal. Good for you Ms. Hairston.

SINGER/SONGWRITER PATSY THOMPSON'S NEW RELEASE: FABULOUS DAY!

Patsy Thompson has been through some tough times over this past decade and she finally got the chance to express that in her latest album, “Fabulous Day.”

Her new album was inspired by new beginnings, to leave bad situations and negative people and start over. The title track is just about that. It's the beginning of a new decade, a new beginning, with a new outlook on life. “Fabulous Day” will take you on a ride in a positive way, the good and bad, the ups and downs, and the lessons learned that inspired Patsy to write this album.

Patsy had to wait a long time, 12 years, to record this new album because of family obligations and when no one else would step in to take care of her mother with dementia, she did. She felt broken and burnt out, with an abusive family holding her down... but things turned around.

And her producer/co-writer and dear friend, Chris Rolin, made her an offer she couldn’t refuse and helped her finish and produce this album which is created a shift and a monumental time in Patsy's life. Its a new beginning and time to move on.

Patsy hopes that her new album will leave you feeling good and that no matter what life throws at you, you can push through, put it behind you, and start over in this brand new decade. Wishing you all a fabulous day.

About Patsy Thompson

What matters is that Canadian born Singer-Songwriter Patsy Thompson made her way to Texas, and back, and now West Coast audiences will only be the better for it. Now they can experience her rich, moving voice, raw-edged rough one moment, smooth and tender the next, always dear and soulful, in songs with catchy turns of phrases and such universal themes as love, loss, dreams, starting over, and partying your socks off.

Her sound is a textured blend of driving beat, growly blues with a bit of Canada's airy accent, with some Texas twang, molded by the influence of musicians she loves: Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, Mellissa Ethridge, Aretha Franklin, Koko Taylor, Bob Seger, and Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson to name a few.

Texans got their first taste of Patsy in 1992 when she played at the famous South-By-Southwest Festival in Austin.

In 1994 Patsy moved to Austin and made it her home for the next 15 years, She recorded at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales studios, and toured to support her recordings, opening for Willie Nelson, Clint Black, Rusty Wier, just to name a few.

But what matters is that she's back full circle and grateful for all the experiences and her gift of writing music, and wants to share it with you. Patsy now has just finished her 6th CD called “Fabulous Day,” produced by Chris Rolin. (Aaron Goodvin). Chris Rolin also lends his extraordinary guitar talent throughout this CD.

Patsy had to wait 12 years to do this project because she has been taking care of her mother with dementia, and she didn’t have the ability or funds to do an album but her producer and dear friend made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. The result is some of her best songwriting to date.

“Fabulous Day” takes you on a ride, full of the passion Patsy gives in her songwriting and her performance.

Visit www.patsythompsonmusic.com and catch a show. You won't be disappointed. On stage, she is a powerhouse, passionate, purposeful, and always personal. Patsy is on a new journey now, a new decade, and she hopes to be touring very soon, this summer, in a city new you.

Stay tuned for details of “Fabulous Day” release date coming March 2020

LOCKE AND KEY NEW SERIES ON NETFLIX WAS PRETTY GOOD!

I streamed the whole 10 episodes yesterday. The show is young adult/teen based so it has horror type action but no real gore or foul language. The actors who play the kids are fabulous! The story is surprisingly suspense-filled, fun and engaging.

Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke steals every scene he's in, he's so smart. Loved him! The mom was mostly unnecessary, clueless and mostly annoying. But the plot does gain momentum after the 3rd episode and I hung in there.

After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them.

Locke & Key Season 1, based on the best-selling graphic novels, Locke & Key follows 3 siblings who, after the murder of their father, move to their ancestral home only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities.

Locke and Key stars Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke, Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke, Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke, Darby Stanchfield as Nina Locke, Bill Heck as Rendell Locke, Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge, Thomas Mitchell Barnet as Sam Lesser, and Griffin Gluck as Gabe.

Watch Locke & Key, only on Netflix
