The sixth generation of Chevy's classic performance coupe has shifted to what General Motors calls its "Alpha" platform, the structural foundation of both the Cadillac ATS and CTS. All three models are now produced at the automaker's Lansing Grand River assembly plant. For the first time both Camaro and Mustang are assembled in Michigan.

There will be three engines available: a 3.6-liter, 335-horsepower V6 built in Romulus. The 2.0-liter, 275-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, assembled at GM's Tonawanda, N.Y., plant, and a 6.2-liter, 455 horsepower V8, produced in St. Catharines, Ontario. Each engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
