THE FLAMIN' GROOVIES WITH DENIZ TEK AND THE GODOYS!!

Story from Keith Rendel:

400 people packed The Chapel in San Francisco for The Flamin' Groovies homecoming. Having made their mark in the 70's, it had been years since band had played as a whole under the Groovies name.

Dennis Tek and The Badmen played before the Groovies and rocked the crowd. From the opening song, a searing version of Peter Green's "Oh Well" from the original version of Fleetwood Mac, Tek's guitar led the way with Steve and Art Godoy's rhythm section pounding the songs home.

Tek featured songs from his current release "Detroit". Introducing, "Pine Box" Tek noted the building had once been a mortuary.

Thanks Keith!

It is nice to hear that a band from the 70's came to perform after such a long time. People nowadays are so much engrossed in a different kind of music that it seems the 70's is a long way back. Yet there are some like us who thrive in the music of those times. So, something from the past is definitely welcome.
