Ann Arbor, Michigan – The Michigan Theater Foundation kicked off a new initiative to generate additional funds for the State & Michigan Project.
Executive Director Russ Collins has outlined the New Seat Sponsorship effort that is intended to generate an additional $300,000 toward the restoration plans for the two theaters.
The State & Michigan Project was launched in 2014 to renovate the former balcony of the State Theatre and to make vital capital improvements to the Michigan Theater.
The campaign has raised $7.1 million toward its overall goal of $8.5 million. When finished, the State will have four screening theaters along with a newly installed elevator, a refurbished historic marquee and a spectacular Mezzanine Lounge with restored Art Deco features.
