EASY VIEW OF 5 PLANETS EARLY AM JAN 20 2016

Early morning stargazers will be treated with a rare spectacle that hasn't occurred since 2005. Five planets, located closest to Earth, will align in the sky.

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will all appear in the predawn sky from Jan. 20 to Feb. 20, giving people around the world plenty of opportunities to view the rare astronomical alignment.

The best time to view the quintet of planets will be an hour to an hour and a half before sunrise. Earlier than that, some of the planets will not be above the horizon and any later, the light from the sun will drown out the glimmer of the planets as daylight approaches. READ FULL STORY

SUPER STAR: JUPITER AND VENUS MERGE TONIGHT

On June 30th, Jupiter and Venus will be merging into what is known as a super-star.

The conjunction of these two planets has been building throughout the month of June and the result will be a dazzling bright spectacular on June 30th.

Sky & Telescope suggest that a similar rare conjunction of Venus and Jupiter may have been what was known as the “Star of Bethlehem” in 3-2 BC and since then there has not been a brighter, closer planetary conjunction. That means that this is the first opportunity of seeing it so clear for 2,000 years!

Jupiter and Venus are the two brightest planets and are often visible from most large city centres.

Throughout June, in the West it has been fascinating to watch the distance between the planet Jupiter and Venus reducing. Yesterday Jupiter was approximately the width of the moon away from Venus and tonight (June 30) the distance will reduce by half when Jupiter passes directly above Venus.

Venus and Jupiter will appear to be approximately one-third of a degree apart from one another. If we put our little finger up to the sky both planets would disappear behind it.

GRAND FIRE TRINE: OF LOVE AND FREEDOM

By Henry Seltzer for Astrograph Astrology

Today, Venus and Jupiter near their exact conjunction in Leo, an astrological and astronomical phenomenon that has been making quite the display these last few days in our evening skies. This lovely and congenial pairing is forming a grand trine with Uranus in Aries and the Moon passing through Sagittarius, all taking their places at 20-21 degrees of Fire signs. It is important, also, to mention that Chiron, the Wounded Healer, at 21 degrees of Pisces, is therefore in square to the Moon, and in inconjunct to Venus and Jupiter.

This is a true celebration of relationship, healing and human-ness. With Chiron thus invoked, this configuration can be viewed as a kind of portal, offering a heightened opportunity to have a glimpse into expanded heart space, and to connect with one another in a way that brings us closer to our higher selves. As the fantastic musicians and songwriters of these intense and interesting times constantly remind us, love is the glue and the salve that holds everything together; so that greater acceptance of ourselves and others is only a gesture away.
