Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors people who have served in armed service also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11.

It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.)

Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans.

While chatting with my friend John last night, we discussed the benefits that Facebook has brought to this world. No matter what irritates us about our loss of privacy or suffering through thousands of inane posts about what somebody had for breakfast.. the truth is communication is POWER...

Before Facebook the people were able to just read stories and post comments (letters to the editor)..Now WE all can create news, organize groups and fight "city hall"...

One of my college professors taught me about  Marshall McLuhan's Global Village that would one day be the state of this Earth. The internet gave us the tools and Mark Zuckerberg made communicating user friendly for all...to me the BEST is yet to come.

Yes the bad guys are using our advanced technology to further their dark agendas. But we need to stay focused on using these gifts to save this world. We all have the power within us to help.

I no longer feel hopeless about the state of affairs in my home town, state, country or planet. Power to the people has arrived... So thank you Mark Zuckerberg for uniting the generations online....xK
