NEW 2021 FORD ELECTRIC MUSTANG MACH E SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE

Welcome to the Stable: All-Electric Mustang Mach-E

All lot of my muscle car guys are not happy about the "new" Mustang SUV. Here is a great article about this topic and the history of the original Mustang that explains it all. Enjoy!!

Hemmings News: Ford blew up the internet in November when it unveiled an all-electric, sport utility at the Los Angeles Auto Show and said it was naming this vehicle, uh… Mustang. Mustang Mach-E to be specific.

Mustang? The original pony car? The sexy fastback that a turtle-necked, sport-jacketed King of Cool double-clutched and flogged in Bullitt? The car that revived affordable American performance in the late 1980s and 1990s? The car that Carroll Shelby tuned up and renamed, creating a legend, second only to the Cobra, in the 1960s and again in the 2000s? That Mustang?

Yep, that Mustang. Its name now also applies to a generic football-shaped, hatchback, battery-powered vehicle with a tablet computer hanging off the dashboard where the center stack should be. You have our condolences. Take solace in the fact that the actual Mustang still exists and is arguably greater than ever.

And what about that car that we all know and love: The original Mustang? It, too, survives in great quantities and remains approachable and affordable. The 1965-’66 Mustang might be one of the ultimate gateway drugs into the American collector-car hobby.

There are likely several for sale within easy driving distance of your doorstep right now in various states of tune: restored, modified, driver-quality, half-assembled, stalled project, etc. Parts for these cars are not a problem. They’re plentiful and affordable, thanks to the perennial popularity of Ford’s first sporty coupe (and convertible).

AUSTRALIAN HARD ROCK BAND ROSE TATTOO UNLEASH NEW LP OUTLAWS!

Australian Hard Rock Legends Rose Tattoo Unleash “Outlaws” Album March 6, 2020!

Rose Tattoo are extraordinarily proud to announce the release of “Outlaws”, the album, on March 6. A re-recording of the famed first and iconic “Rock N Roll Outlaw”, spawning classics like “Nice Boys” (Don’t Play Rock ‘n’ Roll), “Rock N’ Roll Outlaw”, “One Of The Boys” and, “Bad Boy For Love” these songs have etched their way into the music landscape over the last 40+ years. The magik with a ‘k’ is that they’ve included three bonus tracks from the very early days, songs that were demoed and never made the final cut, being a ‘love song’ “Rosetta” written back in 1975 by Anderson and Rilens, “Snow Queen” and “Sweet Love Rock and Roll” penned by Ian Rilens.

Loveable rogue, Angry Anderson recruited the best in the business to head up the assault on this one comprising legendary bass player, Mark Evans of AC/DC fame, iconic guitarist Bob Spencer – Finch, Skyhooks, The Angels, and, Pete Well’s endorsed, “unbelievably talented maestro of rock mayhem”, Dai Pritchard on slide. Keeping the drum stool warm on this outing is ‘Genghis’, the keeper of time, Jackie Barnes.

“For me, that’s critically important, cosmically important, because this album is all about history, heritage, honor, and respect. Just as significant is the forging, the embracing, and the official signing on if you like, to that history by THIS band and having them make their own reverent mark. This really is about honoring the past and respecting the present.” – Angry Anderson

“Rock N’ Roll Outlaw”, was originally recorded at the famed Alberts studios, produced by the legendary team, Vanda & Young and, released through Albert, Repertoire Records in late 1978. The band's debut album reviewed as “A dangerous, unpredictable, monster of a record whose power has hardly diminished an ounce in the decades since this album cemented the band’s foundation for the years to come.”

“The universe owes a deep unpayable debt to this band’s founders Peter Wells and Ian Rilen as well as Mick Cocks, Dallas ‘Digger’ Royal, Geordie Leach, Rockin’ Robin Riley, and Lobby Loyde. Paul DeMarco, Dai Pritchard, and Steve King have of course honorably kept the temple flame burning brightly more recently, but the album also rightfully acknowledges the foresight and support of Ted Albert, Fifa Riccobono, George Young and Harry Vanda who saw something in this band back when most other record companies were calling the cops.” – Angry Anderson

“Outlaws” will be released by Cleopatra Records on all digital platforms as well as on CD and a special limited edition vinyl pressing in your choice of RED or SILVER!

SEA WOLF RELEASES NEW TRACK: FOREVER NEVERMORE

February 7, 2020 – Alternative indie/folk artist Sea Wolf has released a contemplative new song, “Forever Nevermore”, along with an illustrative new video. The track depicts a specific, transformative moment in time with vivid imagery and a driving melody, as the narrator tries to move on while reflecting on what has transpired. “Forever Nevermore” is off Sea Wolf’s first new album in six years, Through A Dark Wood, which releases on March 20 via Dangerbird Records.

Watch the “Forever Nevermore” video via Youtube:

“The song ‘Forever Nevermore’ is set in a very particular place and time, and I like videos that aren’t literal interpretations. The director Jacob Epstein came up with something that was unrelated, and yet there are enough easter eggs to connect it to the song and the larger narrative of the album,” explains Sea Wolf frontman Alex Brown Church. “The video takes place in Los Angeles, where I live, but I’m living out of a suitcase somewhere. I’m connecting with my friends and there’s this new romantic interest, so it seems like life has maybe moved on from the events in the lyrics, but I’m also seemingly trapped in a loop, unable to move forward. The song is about uncertainty really, and here I am perhaps still trapped in the feedback loop of that uncertainty.”

Sea Wolf has garnered a reputation for Church’s poignant delivery and dexterity as a songwriter, first capturing attention with his 2007 breakout track “You’re A Wolf" off the debut full-length, Leaves In The River. After releasing two more studio albums and one stripped-down LP, Church began recording the next Sea Wolf record, but ultimately decided to scrap it. He felt the songs did not reflect the significant life changes he was experiencing, and instead took time away to score an independent feature before returning musically rejuvenated and ready to dig even deeper. The result is his most personal, introspective album to date.

Through A Dark Wood is a compelling collection of songs that showcase Church’s ability to gracefully illustrate deep, complicated human emotions. As cathartic as it is triumphant, the new album explores themes surrounding relationships, loss, the magnitude of current events, and ultimately the process of coming out on the other side. Church's strikingly honest lyrics are wrapped around expansive melodies, with pounding drum machines and a stunning string quartet that push his sound forward and offer an underlying sense of hope throughout. The captivating debut track “Fear of Failure” is a testament to the strength found in confronting internal demons, and FLOOD Magazine called it “more intimate than anything Church has done before.”

STREET SURVIVORS: THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD PLANE CRASH

Los Angeles, CA - Cleopatra Entertainment’s feature film STREET SURVIVORS: THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD PLANE CRASH has been officially selected for inclusion in the upcoming Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival taking place at the Staples Center/LA Live in Los Angeles from February 12th thru February 27th, 2020. The film will premier there on Sunday, February 16th at 7:30pm and will also have a nationwide theatrical release starting this Spring.

STREET SURVIVORS: THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD PLANE CRASH was scripted and directed by Jared Cohn (DEVIL’S REVENGE, DEVIL’S DOMAIN), produced by Brian Perera and co-produced by Tim Yasui for Cleopatra Entertainment. The biopic recreates the story about the ill-fated flight through the eyes of former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle (who narrates the film), who not only survived the plane crash that claimed the life of the band’s founder and frontman Ronnie Van Zant amongst others, but who also physically pulled the remaining survivors out of the plane wreckage before staggering towards the nearest farmhouse in rural Louisiana to seek help. Pyle also contributes original music to the film’s soundtrack.

Says Pyle: “This film’s story – MY story – is not just about the plane crash but also about my personal relationship with the genius that was Ronnie Van Zant – whom I loved like a brother and still miss to this day.”

Cleopatra Entertainment’s plans for the roll-out include an international festival run followed by a domestic theatrical run, including personal appearances by Artimus Pyle, who will introduce the film an participate in Q&A’s with the audience. In select markets, Pyle will perform a live music concert with the Artimus Pyle Band that will feature the hit songs by LYNYRD SKYNYRD. A worldwide VOD and Home Entertainment release which will include a stand-alone Official Soundtrack album are scheduled for June 30th, 2020.

HBO NEW SERIES MCMILLIONS: THE SCAM THE DECEIT THE GREED!

Not sure how I missed this story back in the late 1980s. I guess it was because I didn't get into McDonald's promotions until after my daughter was born in 1992 and Beanie Babies began. Anyhow, McDonald's sponsored a Monopoly type game with game pieces being peeled off various items you could purchase. Large prizes like cruises and small prizes like free fries were promised but none of the big prizes were delivered to the average customer.

A scam of huge proportions was being perpetrated by the game designer, the mob, and many others.

HBO Series #McMillionsHBO Everyone Played It: One Man Rigged It from The Guardian.

It was always a crime story hiding in plain sight. From 1987 to the 1990s, McDonald’s crowned dozens of winners in its promotional Monopoly game, which awarded customers prizes ranging from a free drink to a car to a million dollars. Big-time winners – the rare ticket-finders – were interviewed on the news and profiled in the papers. Except none of the winners were real.

Or rather, none actually stumbled upon a lucky ticket. They were picked in a scheme run by a rogue ex-police officer, Jerome Jacobson, involving mob connections, false addresses, smuggled tickets and over $24m in illegal winnings – a genuinely crazy, rabbit-hole story of greed, deceit, and good old American scamming explored in McMillions, a six-part HBO docuseries out this week.

TED BUNDY: FALLING FOR A KILLER: ELIZABETH KENDALL'S STORY

I just finished watching this very compelling series Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer about Elizabeth Kendall and her daughter's years-long struggle to understand her relationship with malignant/psychopathic/covert narcissist and murderer Ted Bundy when she was a young single mom with a child.

Directed by Trish Wood Written by Richard Regan and Carolyn Saunders

This poor woman seems to be sadly still struggling with the aftermath of falling in love with a man who never existed. The image Bundy projected toward her was completely false and designed expressly to keep this poor woman in his trap.

Those of us who have grappled with the Casanova-Mr Hyde Narcissists understand and empathize with her dilemma. Gratefully victims now have access to tons of therapy sites, videos, and books to help make sense and escape these horrible "people".

After years of silence, Ted Bundy’s long-term girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall, her daughter Molly, and other survivors come forward for the first time in a docuseries that reframes Bundy’s crimes from a female perspective. The series reveals how Bundy’s pathological hatred of women collided with the culture wars and the feminist movement of the 1970s in one of the most infamous crime stories of our time.

Reframing infamous serial killer Ted Bundy's crimes from a female perspective, uncovering the disturbing and profound way his psychological hatred of women collided with the feminist movement and culture wars of the 1970s.

BILL THOMAS' CHEVY CHEETAH RACE CAR: A DESIGN SO BAD IT WAS GOOD!

The Bill Thomas Cheetah was an American sports car designed and engineered entirely with American components and built from 1963 to 1966 by Chevrolet performance tuner Bill Thomas. It was developed as a competitor to Carroll Shelby's Cobra.

The Cheetah was the brainchild of self-taught engineer Bill Thomas. Nicknamed Mr. Corvette for a string of nearly 100 race victories racked up in Corvettes of his creation, Thomas parlayed his success into a contract with General Motors as a performance guru of sorts.

After successfully prepping GM products for road circuits, drag racing, and even NASCAR, Thomas in 1962 went about the business of preparing a Corvette Sting Ray for what should have been another dominating season. His plans were foiled, however, when Carroll Shelby appeared and began stealing SCCA podiums and headlines with his Ford-powered Cobra.

In 1963 Thomas gained covert support from General Motors Performance Product Group head Vince Piggins to develop the Cheetah as a concept vehicle. It was designed by Thomas and Don Edmunds, his lead fabricator. Edmunds is credited with the bulk of the construction of the car. Financing for the project came from private investors, Thomas, and John Grow, a Rialto California Chevrolet dealer.

Grow owned the prototype car. Using his racing connections, Thomas arranged for material assistance from Chevrolet for the major components - the Corvette 327 engine, Muncie transmission, and independent rear-end assemblies. Other components were stocked from the larger GM parts bin, such as Chevrolet passenger car spindles, and NASCAR spec Chevrolet drum brakes.

The 1964 Cheetah above was ordered new in '64 by Jack Goodman, owner of Clarence Dixon Cadillac Dealer in Hollywood, CA. It is one of 15 known to survive in the world today. This is the only Cheetah ever built and raced with the famous Corvette heavy-duty 427ci L88 aluminum-head racing engine option.

The Cheetah was to debut at the 1963 Los Angeles Times Grand Prix but crashed in practice two days before with Don Horvath at the wheel. Its aluminum body was replaced by a fiberglass one. Its first event was at the Cal-Club, Riverside International Raceway event on February 1, 1964.

It crashed at the end of the first lap with Jerry Titus at the wheel. A water hose had come off, spraying water under the rear wheels causing the car to skid off the track at the turn. Titus raced the car throughout the 1964 season.

He was a vocal advocate of the Cheetah as a contributing journalist for Sports Car Graphic magazine. In 1965, Jerry Entin became the car's owner (race car number 58) and he raced it with some success. This car was used in the Elvis Presley movie Spinout.

In 1969, the car was retired from race duty and was registered for street use. Yes, street use. Appropriately the state was Utah, home of the Bonneville Salt Flats. While the Cheetah was never raced on the legendary land-speed record course, it was undoubtedly one of the most potent road machines in the state – or any state – at the time.

In a showdown with even the most highly tuned Ford Cobra, the Cheetah’s superior power-to-weight ratio was sure to see its quartet of Corvette taillights fade into the distance.
