The Star is one of the most positive cards of the Tarot. It represents a great sign of hope, and lets you know that everything you have gone through to this point, you've gone through for a reason. You're on the right path now, and romantic happiness will soon be yours. You can count on your inner strength to guide you even when you feel as though you've lost your direction.
Finally it has come time to drop using Mozilla Firefox..the rebel browser that used to be so speedy and bug free has now become exactly the same as the old Inter Explorer. Google Chrome stream video so much better that I switched to Chrome for TV streaming exclusively. But I cannot have 7 tabs open in Mozilla without freezes and crashing. I have a brand new high power computer and the Extreme Cable Internet speed that has like a 102 mg download and 32 mg up load. I shouldn't have any of these doggy problems.
Today I started using Microsoft EDGE and it is really sharp! Responds super fast and flashy graphics too...the biggest problem I have is that EDGE is not supported by Google Blogger! Come on Google you are getting stingy now....add EDGE!!
So my change over wo Windows 10 has made me really happy! Windows 8 was too buggy and with added features that desktop users never needed...So glad for 10!!
One of my favorite films off all time premiered today in 1994. This film really launched the careers of stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. It seems that just about everyone I know can quote dialogue from this movie...It is one of the great films made from a Stephen King story.... It was directed by Hungarian Frank Darabont.
On this day in 1994, The Shawshank Redemption, starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, opens in theaters around the United States. Based on a short story titled “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption,” by the best-selling author Stephen King, the movie followed the story of a man named Andy Dufresne (Robbins) who is sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife and her lover.
Behind bars, Andy forms a friendship with Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding (Freeman), a longtime inmate known for his ability to “get things,” or smuggle contraband into the prison. The Shawshank Redemption was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Actor (Freeman) and Best Picture (it lost to Forrest Gump). Frank Darabont, who wrote and directed The Shawshank Redemption, also helmed The Green Mile (1999) and The Mist (2007), both of which were based on books by King.
Jack Henry Abbott is captured in the oil fields of Louisiana after a two-month long manhunt that began when he killed Richard Adan at the Binibon restaurant in New York City on July 18. At the time of the murder, Abbott had been out on parole largely through the efforts of author Norman Mailer, who convinced officials that he had a great writing talent.
Abbott spent virtually his entire life in prison. At the age of nine, he was sent to reform school in Utah. Soon after his release nine years later, he was arrested and convicted of forgery. While serving his time at the Utah state penitentiary, Abbott killed a fellow inmate in 1966. Although he claimed to have been defending himself from a homosexual assault, he received another 14-year sentence.
In 1971, Abbott escaped from jail and robbed a bank in Denver before being captured. Back in prison, he heard that Norman Mailer was writing a book about Gary Gilmore, who was on Utah’s death row, and began writing long letters to Mailer, detailing his supposed mistreatment in prison.

Weeks after his release, Abbott murdered a man on a New York City street, a crime for which he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Abbott committed suicide in February 2002 at the Wende Correctional Facility.
Mailer, who thought Abbott was a talented writer, got the New York Review of Books to publish some of the letters. Random House then published Abbott’s book, In the Belly of the Beast. Telling prison officials that Abbott had a promising career as a writer, Mailer offered to employ him as a researcher. On June 5, 1981, Abbott was released to a halfway house in New York City.
Although the New York literary crowd adopted Abbott, he found himself more comfortable among the small time crooks living in the city’s Lower East Side. Only six weeks after his parole, Abbott picked a fight with waiter Richard Adan at the Bonibon restaurant, stabbing him in the chest and killing him instantly. Abbott fled to a small Mexican village, but since he did not speak Spanish, he traveled to Louisiana, where detectives caught up with him.
Back in New York, Abbott managed to get the minimum sentence for murdering Adan—15 years-to-life—in part because Mailer urged the court to be lenient. According to Mailer, “culture is worth a little risk.” Subsequently, Abbott’s notoriety grew even more, and his book became a bestseller. He committed suicide in prison on February 10, 2002.

17 Years ago today I stopped smoking cigarettes. I did it easily with the help of nicotine gum. Never had any side effects and breezed right through. What an improvement it has made on my life! I can breathe! I rarely get sick and no more obnoxious coughing all the time. But my main joy is not having a worthless drug control my life. I couldn't sit through a movie, dinner in a restaurant, or stop from running outside on every work break. Tobacco slavery!
When I stopped cigarettes were $2.60 per pack. Now they are triple that! Crazy!
My hope in posting this is to encourage my readers to free themselves from ruining their health, inflicting smoke on their friends and family, and sending all those cigarette tax dollars to our government.
