Town &Country: It's been a long time since Mindhunter's first season debut October 2017. Thankfully, the wait for more serial killer content is almost over. Here's what we know about Mindhunter's upcoming second season.
THE CORE OF THE CAST IS RETURNING.
Jonathan Groff (Holden Ford), Holt McCallany (Bill Tench), and Anna Torv (Dr. Wendy Carr) are all on board for another season. Cameron Britton, whose chilling turn as serial killer Ed Kemper was praised by critics, has yet to reveal if he's also coming back.
EXPECT SOME NEW MURDERERS.
David Fincher, the series's co-creator, has confirmed that the Atlanta child murders will feature largely in the season's plot. "You could probably do three seasons on the Atlanta Child Murders," Fincher said on KCRW’s "The Treatment" podcast. "It’s a huge and sweeping and tragic story. We couldn’t do it justice in the background of our nine hours.
We had to choose to dramatize. … [The FBI] are the last guys in, they’re trying to help out something that has its own momentum and politics. It’s a divided battlefield. They’re coming in to throw this federal umbrella over everything to make everyone feel OK about sharing information."
It's unclear if the BTK Killer—the elusive man often featured in season one's opening and closing scenes—will appear. However, given his prominent, unexplained role in the first run, it's likely that he'll resurface. Read More
