GOING FOR THE RETRO LOOK
You will notice while looking up various red-carpet events. Some of the celebrities clearly focus on hairstyle and clothing. It looks like the celebrities have taken a break from the modern look and have opted for a more vintage look. You will find celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Dita von Teese, Scarlett Johansson, and many others going for this look.
Taylor swift mentioned: “There’s just something so feminine about a dress. Whether it’s a summertime dress that makes me feel carefree, an evening cocktail dress that makes me feel fancy, or a dress that makes me feel like a ’50s housewife — which I enjoy feeling like, for some reason — I just really like dresses,”
Let’s take another celebrity for instance that has been obsessed with the retro look- Megan Markle has been into the 50s/60s look lately. Yes, the Royal loves this look! Markle has been heavily inspired by style icon Audrey Hepburn.
Rihanna for instance went to the Coachella in April with a retro hairstyle. Many other celebrities love the 50s/60s look.
Going retro still remains as glamourous as ever, be it their curly short hair, wing liner, nice and simple makeup, deep dark brown hair with their nail polish that matches with their lips. That’s pure retro. Women with this style do not go for highlights and their hair is always dark brown.
Nicole Richie is another celebrity that cannot get enough of the 60s and 70s fashion. She says that her mom gives her skirts. She says in a magazine: "She kept all of her old Alaia skirts, which is pretty amazing because now I don't have to buy my ones!"
Rachel Zoe is simply stuck in the 60s and 70s with oversized shades, hat, and chunky jewelry. She has created her own style. She mentioned that ‘’Some of my favorite things are scarves, sunglasses, and great cocktail rings. You find them all over the world at flea markets!"
We all know how Miley Cyrus came in like a wrecking ball. Well her style has hit her fans so hard. She is obsessed with the 80s leather jacket and boots look. As for January Jones, she loves the 60s. She mentioned: "The long-line bra with the pointy tips and the girdle and then the stocking on the garter belt, I like the shape it gives me. It's kind of sad when you take the girdle off at the end of the day.’’
So, there you have it! Don’t be afraid to add a little retro to your wardrobe soon!
