One of my prized possessions is their autographed playlist from the first Ruiners show I filmed. After filming and photographing the band I realized that they were just so much more in person than conveyed on film. Their CD really captures their sound perfectly.

The Conspiracy Theory behind the Manson Murders

Born in Beverly Hills, California, Mae was the daughter of the prominent Wilshire Boulevard Temple Rabbi Edgar Magnin and great-granddaughter of Isaac Magnin, founder of the I. Magnin clothing stores. In her early life, she was a married housewife with five children and living in Southern California. After the Kennedy assassination, she bought the 26-volume Warren Commission Hearings and started studying, for herself, the evidence that Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone assassin. 

In May 1971, after seven years of research, Mae appeared as a guest on KLRB, a local FM radio station independently owned. The response to her appearance was so good she became a regular weekly guest and afterward had her own talk show Dialogue: Conspiracy (later changed to World Watchers International).

In 1983 Mae's show was picked up by listener-sponsored KAZU FM in Pacific Grove. She died in Carmel Valley, California in 1988.

EXCERPT FROM THE MAE BRUSSELL INTERVIEW 1971:

California was where the flower children were. Big Sur was the home of people like Joan Baez, Henry Miller, free souls, artists roaming. California was an important state in terms of conspiracies to kill candidates and presidents, and to effect national policy. It's part of the military-industrial-complex. I'm going to explain why the murder of Sharon Tate and the other persons in her home was a political massacre.

Other researchers have done work on John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King. I was the first researcher in the United States to turn the other peoples' minds to the fact that the same lawyers, the same planners, the same teams originated this particular massacre, and what effect it would have on our society. 

It had to be planned well in advanced of when it happened. I'm going to give you my conclusions on the Manson—I call it the Manson trial because nobody talks about it being Charles Watson's massacre. That's the boy who killed seven people, but the news media associates the name Charles Manson [with the killings].

Manson made the picture on the cover of Life; He is the man that you associate with killing Sharon Tate. Many people don't even know the name Charles Watson, because you're not supposed to know it.

Right now (1971) there's a hung jury in Los Angeles on the decision of whether Charles Watson is guilty of murdering seven people. He was in the home. He did the stabbing forty times. He wrote "death to the pigs" on the door. The jury can't decide if he was guilty. My conclusions are, number one: that all of these persons involved—the major people—are agent provocateurs.

They come at a time to increase violence, to come down on a segment of our society prior to an election year to make law and order necessary to protect us from the people at large in our society.

Number two: Charles Manson was a patsy. He is identical, historically, to Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, and James Earl Ray. Charles Manson killed nobody in the Sharon Tate home or in the La Bianca home. He was being charged with these murders and he didn't kill any one of those seven people. He was used. He was a person who had been in jail twenty-two of his thirty-two years of life.

He was the product of our penal system. He was not a hippie or a part of the youth culture. They bought him a guitar, let his hair grow, put a leather jacket on him, gave him money, gave him a bus and credit cards, and told him to do his thing. 

It was like James Earl Ray was a part of our penal system. He was in Missouri in jail, he met with certain persons, and the next day he was out and there was twenty, thirty thousand dollars of money spent. He traveled continents and everywhere. He was to be used at a certain time and place.

Charles Manson was identical to James Earl Ray, as a product of our penal system. He was used by the news media to slam down on the hippies. We could do one hour on the news control of how your brain is shaped to believe that Charles Manson made a robot out of a nice white Christian boy from Texas. Isn't this terrible? This kind of a criminal mind? Manson was used.

THE STOOGES AT GOOSE LAKE FESTIVAL

Just saw this video not sure if it is accurate but it is fun so all you Stooges fans ENJOY! I did go to this festival on Sunday but it is a giant blur to me now. We spent the day finding our friends and partying. I don't remember what bands played but I am sure it was not the Stooges!

JOHNNY MORGAN'S STORY....

In 1964 at the age of 9 I learned to play drums on Bill Figg's drums in my parents basement on 408 Westwood St in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where the Rationals used to rehearse. Deon Jackson would stop by the house there. I tried to put a band together but no one could play their instruments at that age. We moved to 2097 S. Seventh St in Ann Arbor in 1965 where the Rationals rehearsed once in a while in the family room.

Iggy (James Osterberg Jr.) came by to do gigs and recording sessions playing drums with the Rationals. Bob Seger would come by the house and try and sell Scott (John's brother Scott Morgan) some songs for the Rationals to do. One of them was "Beautiful Loser" I think Scott said but he just didn't think it was a good song for The Rationals.

I told Scott about 1987 or so he should ask Seger if he still had that song for sale? (Ha Ha). I put my first band together in the basement there in 1966-67 called The Revenuers. We played a friend's parent's basement party for $25. One of the songs was "Wild Thing" by The Troggs.

After elementary school it was hard to find musicians to play with, they all went into sports. It wasn't until high school that I began playing again with neighborhood friends when we lived on 7th St. This band became The After Hours Band which morphed into Vantage Point Band who played the 1979 Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festival with weather Report and Willie Bobo.

So I come back from Europe in August 0f 1979 and my brother Scott and (W.R.)Ron Cooke tell me Wayne Kramer (MC5) has teamed up with Johnny Thunders and they're looking for a drummer. They did one gig at Hueys in Chicago but didn't like the drummer apparently.

Johnny Thunders is staying at Gary Burmele's house in Dexter with his wife Julie and children. I go down to Detroit to audition for the band at a rehearsal studio and meet Johnny for the first time. I didn't know who he or The Dolls or the Heartbreakers were. He's wearing a T-shirt with the sleeves cut off and his arms are covered with tattoos and his hair is all greased up with pomp.

Very striking appearance. We do some songs and I leave. Wayne calls me up the next day and says I got the gig. He wants a drummer that doesn't do a lot of fills. I say "Less is more", Wayne says "More is less!". We do a rehearsal, one gig in Detroit, I think the New Miami, then off to Toronto for the live recordings on Jungle Records in September of 1979. Wayne leaves the country and calls his parole officer from Windsor because he is not supposed to leave the country while on parole. He continues on to Toronto.

After I moved to NYC with Wayne and Johnny in May/June 1980, Ron Cooke stayed in Michigan as well as Julie Jordan and Johnny's kids, I stayed in NYC for the summer but Johnny was into the junk so bad he missed gigs and did gigs so high he couldn't play his instrument.

Wayne got back into the bag as well. I moved back to my parents in Ann Arbor in August 1980. Scott formed Brothers of the Road with Ron, Harry Phillips, and Steve Dansby. Then also formed Scott Morgan Band w/ Kathy DeSchaine, Mike Katon, Ron Cooke, then Gary Rasmussen and Scott Asheton later..

When I returned I also performed with Rough Cut and we released one single "Thailand" and "Danger Boy". I also performed briefly with Gary Quackenbush backing up a blonde singer named Tana in Tana and The Tornadoes. Then I joined Al Hill and Jeanne Mayal in Jeanne and the Dreams then Steve Nardella and his Rock and Roll Trio up until 1989.

Had my own band briefly in 1985 called "The Soul Expressions". We played Mr.Floods and Scott, Dave Picard, and Brophy Dale were in that band. John Fraga from The Rockets was the bass player in Steve Nardella band for a while. I moved to LA in fall of 1990 and began another musical sojourn. Stay Tuned....

A fan of mine bought from the State for $1......all they do was put a new roof on. That small detail cost 1.2 million! There was a series of tunnels underneath where we got lost twice! Jason Stollsteimer's new band played."
