SCREEN LEGEND MICKEY ROONEY DEAD AT 93

Mickey Rooney, who spent nearly his entire life in show business, died today. He was 93. Mickey began as a child star and his career spanned many decades. My favorite of his films was the amazing "Boys Town".  The movie I saw with Mickey was "Night at the Museum". He was so funny in the night guard role.

It feels as if I lost a family member, he was in so many movies and television shows. Mickey was a renowned "lady's man". Having been married as much as Liz Taylor. His most infamous marriage was to actress Ava Gardner.

Rooney had been in ill health for quite some time. We're told death was attributed to natural causes. He was one of the most famous child actors in entertainment history. He played the role of Andy Hardy in "The Hardy Boys" in 20 films. Rooney also teamed up with Judy Garland for "Babes in Arms" which was a huge hit back in 1939. Read More

His most incredible achievement was that he convinced Ava Gardner to marry him. She was still a virgin at the time. She also was one of the most beautiful women on the planet and six inches taller than Mickey. He was as handsome as he was tall.
Despite a feverish and tenacious courtship, the marriage was not consummated on the first night together. By his own account he was so nervous that he consumed much more champagne than was prudent. He passed out and was snoring when she entered the bedroom...
