Steve Hunter's Oscar Teller Acoustic Guitar is in the upcoming Julien's 'Icons and Idols Rock and Roll Auction' on Nov 7th at 10am in Beverly Hills, CA (Lot 86) and online HERE


An Oscar Teller acoustic guitar model number 91P, serial number 2174, built in 1974 in West Germany. This guitar was played by Robert Fripp, of King Crimson fame, on the song “Humdrum” for Peter Gabriel’s 1977 self-titled first solo album. It was gifted to guitarist Steve Hunter by Gabriel and the album’s producer, Bob Ezrin.

Steve Hunter, also known as The Deacon, has worked with innumerable musical artists, including Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed, and Alice Cooper, among others. Hunter used this guitar in countless sessions, including on Cooper’s hits “You and Me” and “I Never Cry” as well as on Hunter’s solo albums Swept Away and The Deacon .
Accompanied by the original note written to Hunter by Gabriel and Ezrin, a letter of authenticity from Gabriel, a letter of authenticity from Fripp, a letter of authenticity from Ezrin, and a letter of authenticity from Hunter.
