RICKIE LEE JONES ON TOUR....

Rickie Lee Jones

Hey this is fun! Just got an email from Rickie Lee Jones' PR folks and it took me back in time a little. Haven't heard this tune in forever....

Rickie Lee Jones Teams with Director Ian McCrudden to Document 30th Anniversary of Her Storied Career with Concert Film ‘Rickie Lee Jones – Live in Stockholm’(July 5th on DVD / Stockholm California)

US Tour Dates Confirmed Throughout 2011

Rickie Lee Jones, “one of the most intriguing, idiosyncratic vocalists of our time,” (USA Today) has teamed with Grammy-nominated director Ian McCrudden for her first concert film, ‘Rickie Lee Jones – Live in Stockholm’ (July 5th / Stockholm California ). Filmed on March 7, 2010 at the historic 19th century Berns Salonger, ‘Live in Stockholm’ captures one glittering, sold-out night of the songwriter’s storied 30-year career.

The concert, shot in its entirety, includes the best of her cannon, from her 1979 self-titled debut to 2009’s ‘Balm in Gilead,’ and features the elegantly orchestrated trio of Rickie, Lionel Cole (percussion) and Joey Maramba (bass). The film is in High-Definition with Dolby Stereo & 5.1 Surround Sound.

“I’ve been a fan of Rickie’s since high school,” says McCrudden, who recently directed ‘Anita O’Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer.’ “Rickie is a cinematic songwriter who creates these imaginative worlds with amazing stories. The venue in Stockholm was a fit for royalty. She’s one of the last gilded songwriters.”

Rickie Lee Jones is currently working on her next album for the Concord label, and she’ll be touring the world throughout 2011.
