CHRIS KLONDIKE MASUAK: AUSTRALIAN GUITAR STORY

 Chris Masuak

Australian Guitar Magazine just did a nice post for one of my very favorite guys....check it out!

Two years after he packed up his worldly possessions, bid Australia goodbye and headed off to make a new life in Spain, guitar gun Chris “Klondike” Masuak is heading back to Sydney for a handful of shows.

The Canadian-born, Australian Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will play a special Christmas gig at The Square in Haymarket on Saturday, December 21 with very special guests Dr Bombay and The Stukas.

Masuak, whose lineage includes Radio Birdman, The Hitmen, the Screaming Tribesmen, the New Christs and the Juke Savages, has been busy touring Europe with Spanish and French backing bands as well as being involved in a reformation of the Screaming Tribesmen for dates in Spain and France.

He’ll have his crack band The North 40 (Red Porter on bass, Gerard Presland drumming) in tow for his Australian dates.

Brisbane-based Dr Bombay is led by former Voodoo Lust frontman Gary Slater and will be making their Sydney debut.

The Stukas originally surfaced during the halcyon punk days of The Grand Hotel in the early 1980s and pride themselves on being Sydney’s most reviled band. The band is reforming after a long absence.
